Atkinson beauties!

Hi 240, Thank you for your comment on my “Robert Baillie Pictures”.
The A34, not far from you was our main route,North & South for many
years, en route to Baillies depots at Wigan & Doncaster, and elsewhere.
I am grateful to Tim Walker, Molly Phipps,& Eddie Heaton for the
pictures on the Robert Baillie thread. I wish I could find some more.

Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

My pleasure!

Ah, the A34… I’ve lots of unhappy times on that! I spent 8 years commuting daily between Newbury, and later Kintbury, and Southampton. After that, I suffered a worse part of it by commuting up to Banbury every day for another 3 years :unamused:

Hi 240, Thank you for your comments. In my previous reply to you on Tuesday,
my closing words were “I wish I could find some more”. Then last night there
appeared a photo of FPO 12C,posted on the Robert Baillie thread by " ERF ".
He has been trying to trace some of its history for a long time.

Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

I started a thread on “Old Time Lorries” section of TrucknetUK, entitled "Robert Baillie Transport, Portsmouth & Horndean.
Most of it concerns Atkinson artic lorries. I recently found a photo of Atkinson Borderer ETX 993K,which is a preserved
vehicle. I remember it when it was owned by Robert Baillie in the 70s, and I understand that it was new to John Raymond
of Bridgend. Are you “Atkinson” gentlemen aware of any photos of it, in its early days with John Raymond ■■.
Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

I have just been looking through some of my posts from a few years ago, and realised that I had not added the picture of
ETX 993K when it was with its first owner, John Raymond of Bridgend.

Is there a specific “John Raymond Of Bridgend” thread on “Old Time Lorries” ■■
