A few more pictures to update the 6x2 Atki restoration, doors nearly ready to be fitted.

Many thanks to TruckinCraig for this picture of the Atki 6x2 in one of its former owners livery, picture taken in the mid 80’s.

It was at one of the two (Seddon) Atkinson Gatherings at BCVM, either 1987 or 1988. Some of Brendan Bexton’s motors are in new hands, but I don’t know the whereabouts of all of them

Lets hope he has some more pictures, dont think that chap is George Ward but it could be his brother John. He was a Mechanic in their workshop. Wards did alot of work for Aliance box.

I remember seeing the Wards MAN’s loaded with paper reels out of Alders coming down St John Street in Lichfield while on dinner from school, they weren’t very old at that time and remember when pulling hard how noisy they were, little do i known that i would work on the very same vehicles as a apprentice mechanic

This vehicle is now part of Blakeman Motor Services restored fleet, picture taken may years ago when still owned by Robroy

I know we have been talking about Tamworth hauliers, but has anyone got any images of Mayfair Garage, the MAN (and before that Guy) main agents at Fazeley?? IIRC, I remember delivering an old MAN tractor unit to them, parking it on the hardstanding at the back of the “glass palace” showroom , which had two new orignal shape Volkswagen Passat cars in it, then going upstairs to the offices with the truck keys!!
