I think he’s one of these that thinks he has to do a printout at the end of every shift.

And you can still put your card back in after you pulled it out and do a manual entry AFAIR

I’m not paid by the hour and I don’t get any extra for sitting in the yard. You’re well out of it then. You might have got sacked on Christmas Eve, but every cloud and all that…
There’s another thread on here where some people think being salaried in this game is better than being paid hourly; you are another example of why it’s not.
I think salary would be ok if your contracted for 7 till 5 job.
If your out 5 nights every week maxed out on your spread over everyday. 6 days one week then 5 days the next. Like I do.
It doesn’t make a salary look quite as attractive.

If I put an entry in i would be over my spread every week
Themoocher:
.
That’s with my card pulled and print out been done the second I’m back in the yard
Themoocher:
I done a job first thing in morning. Then went done my second job tipped in yard at half one.So I waited till after 16.00hrs to get on a wash point to wash down the truck, as the yard was packed with trucks.
I started washing down my truck and then got told to go do another job after been in the yard for 3 hours.
The job would have took a few hours then would have had come back then wash my truck down for another few hours.
so you had your card pulled from 13.30?
And whilst it was pulled doing other work?
Themoocher:
If I put an entry in i would be over my spread every week
Sorry but it sounds like you’ve being eagerly engaged in digging your own grave at this company. Pulling your card when you get back to the yard so you can exceed your spread over to engage in unpaid work at the companies benefit for weeks and months on end, thus lowering your actual hourly rate for hours worked and then refusing to be the “yes man” on Christmas Eve, no wonder they got rid of you, you were supposed to bend over and take it in the same manner you have been doing by washing your truck off card every week.
You are ultimately better off out of that job, but we all make rod’s for out own backs in this game so when you start your next job, start it as you mean to go on and don’t be doing daft things like sitting in the yard 3 or 4 hours “off card” to wash your truck for no pay beyond your legal hours, that’s just idiotic.
Themoocher:
I always do a print out and pull my card as soon as I get back to the yard and don’t include the two hours I spent cleaning my truck every week as working Time or I would be over my hours every Friday and Saturday night.
I’m surprised they got rid of a fool like you tbh. I would’ve thought you’d be the bosses favourite. Not only has he got you maxing your working time out every week he’s also got YOU washing HIS truck on YOUR time for no money.
Themoocher:
Yes mate
And you think this is funny. God help us

I think it was a knee jerk reaction because they simply were not expecting someone with such a track record to defy their wishes when the person in question is usually so eager to shoot himself in the foot.
We see it all the time in this job, especially here in Canada. If a driver starts a job as he means to carry on, does his work but doesn’t take any crap, he gets more respect and doesn’t even get asked to do silly things. If another driver starts and bends over backwards to help the office and runs bent as a result, they expect those drivers to blindly accept any job or any type of working condition and they usually end up getting fired in the spare of the moment when they suddenly refuse one day to do something. I think that’s what has happened here.
and we wonder why the jobs Fcked
Maybe the OP needs a reality check and a new years present of the rule book and a change of vocation out of RH
This thread must be a wind up, no one can be this stupid in working many hours off the card for no money. Must be a wind up, especially with the addition of smilies to his replies now.
To the OP. If it isn’t a wind up then they’ve done you a massive favour by sacking you and putting an end to your exploitation. Walk away. Keep walking. Do not so much as look back. Do not make any attempt to go back. You are a free man now, don’t let yourself be abused like this again.
It ain’t just me everyone does that with the company.
So if you don’t your the odd one out.
I think I can count how many times on one hand I have had the luxury of having a 30 min rest period. That isn’t involving loading and tipping.
I’m not a lazy ■■■■■■ or mincer. I thought enough is enough on xmas eve.
Name and Shame

So all the rest of them are ■■■■■■ idiots also then
You allow them to show you no respect by letting them make an absolute ■■■■ out of you on a daily basis and come bleating on here when they give you the tin tack ffs.
It’s tough getting the boot but you made a rod for your own back man.
Sorry to be harsh but if you behave like a ■■■■ you sure as hell will get treated like one, so learn by your mistakes in your next job and don’t be so willing to be dry annaled

Well in that case there is no kind way to say this, you are a fool and you brought it on yourself be letting them abuse you on a daily basis. They’ve done you a massive favour, best Christmas present you could of had this year. Move on and learn from this.
