But we are entering a whole new ball game here, so will keep going with my old girl and see who comes in.
My opinion for what it’s worth is Breedon isn’t big enough, so seems someone like AI, but Breedon may want to cherry pick some plants that AI don’t want

Breedon have said they have £1billion ready to splash on Tarmac/lafarge. I’ll see if cab find the link.
That sort of money will be enough to buy all nearly.
The whole package has been estimated between £350 million to 500. If Billionaire George Soros as mentioned in the above link backs Breedon they will raise the funds. He is worth £20 Billion and has given away £8billion in his lifetime. If he was my dad I`d have a new Scania
My money is on Aggregate Industries l(Holcim) They are the only aggregate/Readymix supplier in the UK who do not have a cement works and import it all.
They have wanted one for a few years. This package would suit them.
Breedon own a few in Scotland so can’t see them buying them.
Breedon are spread over a large area from Scotland, Midlands (Nottingham), Shropshire(Telford)(Shrewsbury) and Welsh Borders(Leominster)

But none in north west. We ain’t even heard of them before this.
Who would you guys prefer to be with?
Hope its not Breedon. Don`t want my truck painted like this

dont think these colours are too bad, sureley better than boring white

If it is Holcim, then its Aggregate Industries AKA Bardon

I totally agree on that one
Do i NOT like the look of those Breedon colours!!! Oh and the Bardon Scania,i,m such a scanie ■■■■■ hehe hope they have enough work to pay for that monkey!
Have heard nothing this week about who may take us over, other than the rumours kicking about last week, maybe we should start up a facebook page for O/Ds and drivers in the new company to keep in touch, hopefully we will have a voice? I heard Cemex drivers parked up a few weeks ago? Ref rates and lack of work
tarmac must have a deal with renault with the amount of new tippers and mixers ive seen on the road lateley

New truck push on
Hmmmm a renault, i know a guy with one of those, although a 4 wheeler, he reckons if you pushed it too hard regularly, it would fall to bits!! So how are they helping you to buy it??

Knowing Tarmac, they won’t be doing much to help us.
I find it laughable that these idiots can send out a letter asking do we want to buy new trucks and how they will help us out, yet can’t tell us who the hell we will be working for, if we will be working at all and what happens with the finance if we move to another company.
Utter shambles and they just trying to get themselves out the sh** as they stuck with new trucks on order with no drivers to buy.

Funny, because Volvo bought Renault 3 years ago, moved all their engines, gearboxes and chassis across and sell them for less.
They created the construction Premium Lander.
Renault only use their own engine management. They got better results than Volvo so now Volvo are using it as well!
Mine was parked along side a 61 reg Volvo FM tipper on site the other week and they are identical, bar the cab.
The 430 engine is fantastic, pulls like train, could of had 460 for £1k more. Think I will next and I-shift gearbox

Your probably right there. They will be losing about 750 OD`s minimum
