Any concrete mixer drivers ( owner drivers) on here?

Hear`d Friday from McPhee drum manufacturers that no more trucks will be painted in Tarmac livery and that they will leave there for delivery plain white

So the jvco will cherry pick the “best” drivers for retention to the merged company ?

There are no “best” drivers. We are all 5 digit numbers starting with an 8 to them. Maybe they`ll pick the newest trucks

No new tippers this way have any logo’s on them until they know they are going to be hauling for.

Aparantly there’s a meeting this week in Warwick (I think) where transport/driver issues are being discussed. So should know more on Monday.

There is a National transport meeting tomorrow. My TM will be there. Love to be a fly on the wall and see whats going on and whats planned for us

I’ve been working in midlands this week and stopping down here, they have heard nothing

All quiet in north Mids too. Apart from what’s already been posted on here.

Seems Tarmac aren’t even trying for jobs. We have a job just about to star within spitting distance of the plant but guess what. We ain’t won it. Pathetic.

To be honest I’ve no idea what to think. My plant isn’t on the “list” so I’ve no idea if I’ll be better or worse off.

Worrying times ahead.

There could be something in the wind as Tata have been previously mentioned as contenders.
We were always getting Health & Safety briefs on incidents at Anglo American sites around the world such as fatalities and accidents etc. could be just coincidence but the last 2 have been about Tata sites. 1 as meaningless as somebody falling off a ladder at a Tata works! Why?
Also new trucks are just white. Tata livery is white with blue Tata logo.
Could be reading too much into it though!

Any snippets of info regarding the Friday transport meeting ?

I found out today, that since Friday the new truck deal is off if your plant is on the list unless already signed for.
Asked TM if he knew who NewCo was. Told Didnt know Asked if trucks at plants on list can stay with JV or stuck at plant told, dont know.

What did they discuss Friday? :unamused: :unamused:

I’ve heard it’ll be 3 or 4 weeks til drivers hear anything as lawyers are looking at things.

Don’t know what things. Who called in lawyers.

As per usual Tarmac treats the drivers like summat they’ve just stepped in.

I would have thought Tarmac would have already looked in to the legal side of things.

Maybe the meeting wasn’t just about trucks, maybe it was about how it effected all people from the transport side of things?

Your the 2nd source that Ive heard in a few days that lawyers are involved with drivers. Dont know why though

They will need to make sure all is legal that they are doing. When contracts are involved I suppose they will need lawyers to make sure it’s all correct.

Whatever they are up to, it will be underhanded. It wouldn’t shock me if they just get shut of us and leave us with huge finance hanging round are necks with the attitde, it’s your truck, your problem.

They can`t do that because as has been said before they are guarantors on the HP with HSBC Business Finance.
How can they send you off with another company when they are still guarantors with HSBC
Perhaps HSBC will force them to repay off the finance before they let the trucks out of sight.
Perhaps JV will keep all the trucks in HP

Just stop and think about it, how the hell can they swap insurance, finance etc over to a new company?

I just can’t see how its all going to work, it’s very very complicated.

Possibly all out of contract trucks will go with newco but the ain’t many these days that have contracts.

I can’t see Tarmac paying off our HP and letting us have the trucks.

I hope its TATA taking us over. Id love one of these    NOT Maybe theyd let us have cheap Range Rovers though

tarmac made a 15 million pound loss the first six months this year, not supprising cos theyre giving there concrete away here in telford.nobody can compete on price according to our sales team but they seem to think a busy plant will be worth more when they sell them

Any news on who they have dumped the cast odd to? Gone very quite on this thread since Tarmac and lafarge sent letters out warning about talking about them on the net lol
