iv had 3 peterbilts m8 all blinged up as well they liik good ye but not a patch on euro stuff for ride comfort im geussing they were peterbilts 379 bonneted on way to truck show look nice tho
Petes look the part and not a bad drive but wouldn’t buy one
Saw an article on this the other day…wouldnt mind a go…DEREK, PROUD OWNER OF A DUEL TRUCK: youtu.be/2lM5_UDgm-0
I saw one at truckfest a couple of years ago and they were interviewing the owner… They talked about fuel mpg etc and they the interviewer said ‘its probably quite high tax as well’. The owner said tax was around £165 per year. As someone who runs a old 320d which is £240 per year I used the opportunity to try to justify buying an american truck to my g/f. It didn’t work

That’s the worst replica of the Duel truck i’ve ever seen. Surely if you’re going to spend all that money doing a replica at least make it realistic. It doesn’t even have a tanker trailer
How many could actually get in and drive them though, seriously.
None of your Nancy boy auto boxes, more than likely a 13 speed semi crash Fuller box at a guess, if it’s an older model.
Dream on you younger guys, these trucks are for a certain age group.
On a wind up btw, don’t take it to heart.
Double post

Only a 13 spd not an 18?
I am fortunate (or unfortunate depending on perspective) to have driven both a Peterbilt and a Mack, The Peterbilt reminded me of a Seddon Atkinson for some reason.
Blingy looking, but not a patch on European trucks for comfort and usability (IMHO).

I did say ‘at a guess’

Many, perhaps still most brand new trucks here come with an Eaton Fuller crash box, 13 speed being the most common at a guess. They’d be no use to the average driver on here though as unless they’ve being retrofitted with a digital tacho they’d feel unsafe, like the cotton wool has being taken off and refuse to drive it on safety grounds as there would be nothing keeping track of their WTD hours and nothing to input a manual entry for collecting the keys. Things that if you requested to do in the US, somebody would hopefully and quite rightly take out their revolver and shoot you in the head for…seeing as we’re being being entirely serious with this

And I thought I was a wind up type of guy.

Don’t feel to bad after 9 hrs straight behind the wheel. The only thing I dint like is that it’s about as reliable as a 1980’s Skoda
pbilt/kenworth/freightliner/international/western star. drove all these and basically there all amix/match of ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ detroit diesel plus the ol cats still kicking around. buying trucks here is like buying the ol pick/nmix bags of sweets .
I wouldn’t feel embarrassed those American trucks look horrible compared to the trucks driving around over here.
It seems like they just decide to stick on the front end somewhere completely different to the factory that makes the cab

Ex forces so fine here and I reckon anyone who has driven a class 2 for a pallet/parcel network is probably fine too because they never seem to have all the synchromeshes left after the first year.
The 379 is nice looking truck, but not comfortable for drive, especially if you are tall, small windows accounts for poor visibility, big turning radius, high fuel consumption because most are 14L+, you can’t stand straight because the bunker is short etc.
I learned driving in this beauty, and was reliable as hell and got decent mpg with cat C12 engine

Volvo 670 D13/16?
I’ve driven Freightliner’s, Kenworth’s, Pete’s, International’s, etc. and none of them will hold a candle to the Volvo I got now, it’s far superior in every way to those other yank dinosaurs, a D16, 600hp with an 18sp Eaton Fuller.
Despite them being old fashioned, and despite all the keeness gone out of me long ago, if given the chance I would love to have a go in one of those old 80s Kenworth conventionals that was on the old Movin On tv show, and Convoy.
I am used to left hookers, and used to be able to handle a Fuller box no problem, and matched up to a 500 ■■■■■■■ I reckon it would be an experience, maybe it’s on my bucket list from today…how bloody sad am I
