ALDI NAZIS

I’ve often wondered what the true cost of just opening the curtains and depositing it all over the yard would be. If retail value is about £3 per tonne like everything else they sell, a whole trailer full must have a value of almost 1 ■■■! Lol

Ok the subject header is a bit extreme but I have had an email and this is part of it.

Following ongoing local issues with drivers/suppliers deliveries to the aldi neston rdc we write to instruct that vehicles from aldi suppliers MAY NOT PARK
AT ANY TIME within 3 miless (5km) of the distribution centre.
this parking restriction applies at all times day or night 365 days a year.
This parking restriction specifically includes the nearby clayhill ind estate and the entire town of neston,as well as the rdc itself.
any supplier found to be parking within this radius will have their loads rejected when they attempt to deliver into the rdc.
Regular aldi patrols will be monitoring activity within the local area and vehicle reg and discription of OFFENDERS will be logged around the clock 7 days a week.
furtermore any suppliers/hauliers found to be breaking this curfew will be subject to rurther penalties from the aldi corporate buying dept.
It goes on.
tha arrogance of these [zb] takes some beating, lets face it in the eyes of many we are just like ■■■■■.

( language edit ) jd

Send a letter to the aldi rdc asking how are you supposed to
deliver on time and stay legal if they are imposing such
restrictions, then again , IF and ONLY if, ALL TRANSPORT COMPANY’S
stood up to the CUSTOMERS WHO act in such a way can perhaps a
change come around to the way they thing,SORRY but they are
obnoxious nincompoops who live in a world of their own surrounded
by sweet smelling horse manure , I don,t think :imp:

by the way what will they do if you can not move because you have run out of time.■■?

I agree,it would be so good if we all stood up to them.but it will never happen.

ALDI & LIDL were never a major part of my work but the times I did go to tip there it seems as though it would only take a dozen trucks to “adjust” the delivery schedule for the rest of the day :smiling_imp:

As no one in Aldi seems to give two tosses about drivers, resting hours and regulations, then the company deserve to have an operational problems at the RDC.

I feel a strong letter coming on :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel a strong letter coming on :stuck_out_tongue:

A strong letter Malc, is that all??

:bulb: Instead, why not stick a sheet of cardboard in the envelope? (Then it would be a stiff letter. :stuck_out_tongue:)

As a mischievous form of protest, why not park up at Aldi’s Ellesmere Port shop if you need to overnight?
The Neston Aldi store’s conditions have been complied with, there’s a huge PUBLIC car park which surrounds the Ellesmere Port Aldi store, and all amenities are very nearby, including a 24-hour ASDA. If the folks at the Ellesmere port Aldi store give you any grief, then just refer them to the letter from the Neston store and let them sort it out between themselves.

Map to Aldi, Ellesmere Port :arrow_right: CLICKY

Mind you, you’ll never win with that type of people, cos they’ll just snidely report you to central purchasing. :smiling_imp:

IIRC, there’s no legal reason that you can’t park on Clayhill Ind Est, Neston.

Dear Sir.
I was concerned when the following missive was brought to my attention. It was posted on a well respected web forum that deals with the daily pressures of the delivery driver and road hauliers. Although I did not see the original document, the following was purported to have been sent by Aldi Neston to their suppliers and hauliers.

As a former lorry driver who has recently found himself out of work due to a long term illness, we, as a family have had to make sacrifices; these sacrifices involve finding a less expensive lifestyle and trying to save cash wherever possible. I was disgusted to read the above quote,(in italics) especially the threats of further penalties from the corporate buying department. I have worked in the industry for almost 40 years and what with the current legislation and heavy court fines levied upon them if the transport company & driver are not perfect when it comes to strict record keeping. The same commercial pressures have also taken their toll on operators and warrant even closer supervision of empty running, delivery times and vehicle utilisation.

You must understand that the only way hauliers & drivers can make your strict RDC booking times is to be as flexible as possible which necessitate the need to maximise their hours and possibly take a reduced rest. This can only be done if there is a place for the driver to sleep within a few minutes of your distribution centres. Lorry parking facilities are already very poor in the United Kingdom but your customers, of whom I am also one, would be most disgruntled to find that the fresh milk or bread is in a lorry 25 miles away and the driver cannot start work for another 90 minutes. As a protest I will do as the poorly written letter asks, in future you will never see myself or my family within 3 miles (5km) of an Aldi store.

Best Regards

What Aldi are saying may seem extreme but it’s not Aldi imposing the restrictions it’s the local council, Aldi struggled to get permission to use the old Marconi site because of local opposition to HGV’s, eventually it was allowed but weight restrictions went up all over the place.

On almost a weekly basis letters are written into local papers complaining about trucks (mainly foreign) parking on small business forecourts and car parks for sometimes days and when they leave the area looks like gypsies have spent a month there.

You don’t have to comply with the request but I could see Aldi refusing to allow your company to service them before being forced to close, so it’s a case of being reasonable or lose business.

Obviously Adolf Hitler never died in his bunker then,he’s now running Aldi!

I can’t believe the crap we have to put up with in this industry, not only do you have to tip yourself you now can’t park anywhere near the RDC.
I couldnt believe the start time for tipping chill vehicles when i delivered in there,9am!,couldn’t complain though as Stobarts started you at 430 to get there from Alcester,3 hrs in bed, when i got there, bliss!

one of the DC’s in Melbourne (Coles supermarket) tried to stop us parking on the street theyre on, despite giving us a 15 mintue time window for the timeslots, and there being stuff all parking anywhere else in the area, and what there was available was usually full anyway.

What did we do?

We completely ignored them and just continued parking on the street.

The rammifications?

None.

Hello, In which year do we live, these people who build such RDC in such areas .are not using there brains, or what brains they may have, Any child could
have told them that the amount of traffic would be such that a parking area
with facilities would be needed, in fact, they must be thick as two planks of
wood, Yes we will have left some rubbish behind; why ■■ ; and also we may have
left remains of having been doing the morning ablutions, Where can we put our rubbish, and furthermore where do we go to the toilet and also clean our selves, when we wish to do,It is long past the time when Those firms who use our services also start to think about us, or they will reap the end result, and that’s life,

What right does a private company have to dictate parking arrangements outside their land. Excuse me if im mistaken is this not a local council matter? If parking is a issue for local residents then it should fall to the council to bring in measures not some dictatorship of a private company. If truck companies did stick together and all loads got rejected because of parking- Aldi would go out of business.

when you turn up at aldi, and the prick at the gate won’t let you in as you are too early, show him the letter, and explain that aldi won’t let you park in the area, so you must deliver early.

or do what i did when morrisons played up.

move jobs.

if everyone just parks up, and they refuse all the loads, then they go bust.
if they refuse the load, sell it.

Won`t be long till we will just go direct to their stores and tip anyway.

Get it on the shop floor, put it on the shelves and sit behind the till until its all sold as we do everything bloody else.

All these rdc`s treat you like your a bloody salesman trying to sell them the stuff, the amount of arguments I have trying to explain that they ordered it and their supplier sent it so if they need it sent packed a certain way on a certain type of pallet then take it up with them as I am not breaking it down while their staff all walk around with a wee scanner laughing at drivers getting crushed with their dodgy pallet trucks.

Rant over back to the parking problems.

First, to Wheelnut. I,m sorry to read about the Health problem Malc. I always enjoy reading your normally up-beat posts on here. So it,s Best Wishes to yourself ,and your family, in coping with the problems that sort of thing brings.

Your well constructed letter is worthy of a response from the Manager at Aldi Neston.
I,ve got the feeling though that it might well be on the lines of Stringy.s post. I originate from Birkenhead, and keep in touch with things in the area via the online Birkenhed/Wirral Newspapers. Neston is often in the news, mainly for vandalism. damage to parked up waggons, and that sort of thing. As Stringy says, the locals up there are not aficionados of the World of the Waggon Driver, although they do like their Cornflakes, milk, and Fresh Bread to be delivered to the supermarkets , from which they buy it,on time.

As has been said many times on here before, the sooner the British Haulage Industry take a leaf out of the European book, and stop the job completely until some of the repressions , and negative attitudes, faced by waggon drivers trying to get a job done are lifted, nothing will change.Regulation is not a problem, Over-regulation is a pain in the Zb. A good dose of that old French motorway blocking favourite, “La Greve” is what is needed. It has always worked for the French trucker.

Aldi are big enough, and should have enough clout in an area to get permission to provide dedicated parking places for all of the Waggons who might arrive overnight to make their deliveries. I often help drivers at my local Aldi, to thread their way through ( in reverse), all the parked cars dotted around the spot, as they try to get onto the bay to off-load, as there is no room to turn, in front of the bay. Does the driver still have to off-load his own waggon, and put the pallets in the correct place in the warehouse.■■ Wunderbar!

I,ve just read Phil,s post. That,s what we need ,a bit more of the old Bolshie :imp: :imp: attitude zbem!!

“if you do not comply viv the orders, for you british truck driver you career vill be over and you vill be put against a vall and shot”

jase:
“if you do not comply viv the orders, for you british truck driver you career vill be over and you vill be put against a vall and shot”

we need to remind these germans who won the war

boycott boycott - run aldi out of britain :smiling_imp:

It’s the usual story, the morons who live there are quite happy to buy goods from Aldi but imagine it could be magicked there by the Aldi fairy,

i park up at birkenhead quite often, but i could make my presence known near aldi neston, if i could get the address.

i don’t like these people, and it dosn’t really concern me, as i don’t deliver to rdc’s any more, however, if they come out and make a nusance of themselves, then i will have an excuse for a good old fashioned linching. :smiling_imp:

I don’t deliver there, so if I need to park anywhere in that part of the world, I am going to make a point of parking as close to their RDC as it is possible to get.
