ALDI NAZIS

I remember when I worked in the warehouse at Sainsburys in Partick a few years back we had a great relationship with 99% of the drivers. Drivers came in handed over their paperwork and when the seal was broken they could go do as they pleases while we unloaded tipped the wagon.

Most of the time the drivers would get stuck in and help, usually putting the load on the scissor lift and then we would put it away.

I don’t understand why stores make it difficult for drivers when doing deliveries!

Whilst I have never tipped at any Aldi depot, I have used their shops to buy a selection of low cost goods. Their Choceur range of chocolate is particularly good, as are their range of cheapo fish pies. Naturally I am glad that someone has delivered them to the store, via the distribution chain, or I’d have an empty trolley at the checkout (obviously).

However I wonder whether someone has complained about lorry drivers delivering to this location, due to problems with anti social behaviour from lorry drivers? You know the usual sort of stuff, parking on footpaths and breaking them up, blocking entrances or exits to other premises, revving engines, or leaving pee bottles and other rubbish strewn everywhere? Whilst some drivers will never admit to doing these things, they can often be their own worst enemy.

Having said that, the management at this facility do need a lesson in good manners, preferably from a well placed fist… If they spoke to someone like that in a pub, they would probably soon find themselves in a horizontal plane.

Prestons and mitchinbury in NSW Australia are self tip, I really cannot see an issue in self tipping as said it is quicker etc.

Why wait 2 hours to be tipped when you can do it yourself! but then again a lot that moan, have prob been driving before Henry Ford did the T model and before horse and carts.

Pure and utter lazy ( I forgot superior) class 1 drivers, if you don’t want to unload at Aldis’s don’t do the job. If you want to moan get out of driving but most cant because they cannot be arsed to get a better education and want to miss kids growing up etc.

Iv tipped in Aldi a few times.

I was up at the RDC just of the A5 a few weeks ago.

Was a Monday morning 0700hrs tip.
Driving from. Essex to there yard.
I left on the Sunday night and parked up ready to tip first thing in the morning.

I parked up right outside the gate.
I mean right outside the gate no one said anything to me.

i used to load juice out of mulrines in ballybofey co donegal, and they started giving you the electric ones that you stand on the back of instead of loading you themselfs.( they went like stink)…seeing as you waited for ages for them to do you, then once they started that, there was no point gobbing off about h&s,or the “i havent been inducted, trained or whatever excuse”, as 1 it was donegal, and 2 it was a nfl subbie i was driving for,i just had a go at trying to load the trailer flatout on the button of the thing…3 out of 4 wrecked pallets later, then its ffs driver your wrecking all your load…well its not my fault ive got trigger thumbs and arthritis in me wrists.i told you not to get me to load it,im doing my best here…happy days all round after that and back to normal with me in the bed till i was loaded.they did kick up a stink between nfl and the subbie, but i still didnt go driving a truck around their warehouse as i dont work for them, same as i dont work for lidl etc…just because they lost 2 wars dosent mean i need to work in their warehouse and do their job for them.the back of the trailer rule works 2 ways. i reckon if someone wrecks themselfs, then there has to be a good negligence claim in there for someone.

LOL Mulrines now there is a place that would give the average H & S expert a heart attack place hasn’t changed since the days of horse and cart used to hate getting told to pop in there for a load on way back to the yard there was 3 or 4 hours gone that you wouldn’t ever get back

Has anyone delivered to Aldi/Lidl on the European mainland?

Probably a MMTM but I’ve been told they tip you like a regular RDC and its only
UK/Eire that it’s self tip.

Not tipped at an Aldi or Lidl in Europe but the self tipping thing is much more common over there 33 plts of frozen chips great fun in a -25 cold store in your jeans and hoodie!!!

Is that miserable sour faced cow still on the desk at Aldi Livingston?

After saying that she aint as bad as the old coffin dodger at Bookers Livingston, maybe they are related

I enjoy self-tipping at aldi, after a 3-4 hour drive to get there, an hour or so strolling around steering an electric pallet truck is a welcome bit of exercise.

Aldi goldthorpe has a new goods in person who is being ■■■■ on booking in times, went on sat at 12 with a 2pm booking and was told to come back at 2pm, arrives back at 2pm to be told there now closed for deliveries. Load now back at suppliers as they holding it till they get an explanation as to why they booking loads ( apperently there was 3 other loads booked for 3,4,5 which didnt get deliverd either) with times they know they gonna be closed.

I have delivered Aldi, Rewe, Netto and Lidl in Germany and Denmark, Delhaize, Spar, Colruyt and Carrefour in Belgium, Deli XL and quite a few coldstores in Holland and it was always self tip.
So stop worrying that you are worse off then your continental collegues.

when you turn up at aldi, and the prick at the gate won’t let you in as you are too early, show him the letter, and explain that aldi won’t let you park in the area, so you must deliver early.

or do what i did when morrisons played up.

move jobs.

if everyone just parks up, and they refuse all the loads, then they go bust.
if they refuse the load, sell it.

or a Lorry with Romanian Numberplate deliveries a week later
perhaps

No worrying from me - part of the job as far as I see.

Was just interested that’s all, so don’t assume I feel hard done to.

Is Neston due to close when the new RDC opens at the bottom of the M61 ?
Or is the new RDC being built in addition to the existing RDC’s due to the recent success and growth of ALDI ?

Aye putting a fridge on the inside bay soon sorted people out then pulling off the bay to reverse up the hill at 40t then a jack knife turn to get you pointing the right way up the hill, great place for tyres and gearboxes

Middleton going maybe?

I did hear that it is to replace Middleton.

scaniason:

Yea. Middleton is bursting at the seams, that closes & Bolton opens. I suspect there might be some hauliers in the area slightly concerned at the prospect of a big driver recruitment there, given the wages. Culina opening a big site near Irlam next year as well, another good payer. Makes a change for the area.

Middleton beat goldthorpe handsdown, they dont worry bowt booking times if you there and they got room they take it, goldthorpe is stricltly to booking time depending who is checking.
