hi iv just found a web site www.depoelconsulting.com. who claim to have personnel files from 4000 UK agencies does any one know more about this .?
This now a very long thread, but we strongly suggest that anyone working for an agency, or considering doing so read it ALL and make up their own mind which agency is best for them … de Poel registered or non-de Poel registered
edited by Rikki to add the above paragraph to the original post
I’ve seen it too but i think it wont alter the fact that companies need drivers regaurless of how well they drive trucks… I’ve seen it all before, no action taken or required pmpl…

I would also like to tell you that apart from confusing my company with another I agree with your comments on your post and the unethical way most driving agencies operate stinks. But we are trying to break the mould, I know you are not in our area but please take a look at our website we are very clear on the benifits we offer, we treat our drivers (most of them are also our employees) with respect, honesty and keep our promises. If you ever see one of our drivers in a truck stop (blue uniform gold badge with steering wheel logo) ask him if our company is any good.
Sorry to you all going off topic a bit but we have worked hard to build our reputation. But just think how you would feel if your name was blackened even if by mistake!
A very interesting post by the MD of the agency which has one of the worst reputations in West Yorkshire for giving out misleading information to drivers in order to get them on their books.
How are your relations with Viamaster’s standing at the moment by the way
There’s an agency in Redditch advertising exemption from the WTD. I phoned them and asked if it was through Nova or Madison, the reply was “it’s through our own scheme” and wouldn’t go into anymore detail!
They not ony offer exemption from the WTD but exemption from tachograph regulations too. When I worked for Protemp Worcester, I interviewed a few drivers who’d worked for this other agency and they said that they’d been offered the chance to work 7-8 days in a row; one Polish driver had actually worked 9 days without a break!

Not that there’s anything new in working a continual 7 days a week as it’s easy-peasy to do on agency obviously, but for the agency to kinda go public about it is rather silly of them, me thinks .
Rikki, have we any new information about this agencey and its ill thought
out,and absolute abortive methods of trying to entice the illinforrmened
to become a part of there data base on agencey drivers, we do require
to keep the debate going and up in the headlines, are we therefore
awaitng a reply from those ““TRUCK”” or “TRADE”" newspapers or perhaps from one of the representatives from the GOVERMENT;WHAT IS
HAPPENING;
a new development
the agency im working for refused to register with depole on the grounds of the way they restrict the amount agencies can charge thus the amount they can pay their drivers
this refusal ended up having no effect whatsoever on the agencies bussiness
in fact the companies insisting on depole were ringing up within a week begging for drivers

I have heard nothing back from the journalists that were intersted in this story so far… however as if often the way with these things it may take a while for them to do their own research…
… or it is possible that they dont really give a stuff about what drivers think of this scheme and they dont fancy going head to head with De Poel
both agencys ive been to and thats qrf in ossett and taskmaster in leeds oh yer silly me 24/7 in leeds (thats 3) have never heard off de peol and thinks its illegal.
