it seems the evil specre of De poel has raised its head again, albeit locally.
One of the companies Ive had dealings with recently on the Asda contract out of the old Netto depot at South elmsall, has informed me that De Poel are now involved in the process. As a result, the rates have taken a slight nosedive, and theyre rejigged the deffinition of days, afters & nightshift start times.
so I`ve politely told the agency that I no longer wish to accept any work from them while De Poel are involved.
This may effect a couple of other TNUK members who recently showed some interest in working at this site

Now if only everyone adopted that position we’d see some results…cue the half a loaf is better than no bread brigade!
Davey Driver:
I think there is one thing that everyone is overlooking here
Where did they het the information from in the first place
It seems to me that Agency’s have obviously been selling the information in the first place without your knowledge
Don’t be so fast to accuse the agencies of doing this - after all, how many of them hold your full medical files?
On the other hand DVLA are MY prime suspects here, as they are already known to charge for information then given out to anyone paying the fee.
DVLA information DOES contain your entire medical report on file when you had one to get the LGV licence in the first place, plus any amendments since, eg. at age 45.

De Poel is in effect a group of agencies which have got together to pool information on drivers. Why would they want to go to the additional expense of buying info from DVLA?
They already take the word of a client as to the worthiness of an employee.
One bad report and there is a ■■■■■■■■■ mark next to your name.
Digging this up from the past abit but noticed the Agency drivers control form at work last night. On there is a column headed “depoel”.
Now in MY OPINION the following companies all had YES next to them when others had NO.Leading ME TO believe that the following agencies With Drivers in sherburn Exel ARE Depoel Registered.
As a new member to this site Im glad I have found this thread. Just wondering, does this database potentially hold information on me, an agency van driver, or is it just drivers of LGVs?
Toploader, As I understand it, it will hold information about any driver that works for one of the agency’s involved, regardless of if you are an LGV or non LGV driver.
I haven’t read all of this thread, but maybe someone can answer a question for me on this De Poel malarkey?
A few months ago I went to see Blue Arrow regarding some driving work, and another agency I have worked for came up in conversation, regarding the rate of pay at a client they both provide drivers to. Basically, I was paid about 50p an hour less, and to prove their point, the Blue Arrow bird opened a program on their computer, put in my details, the client and my licence type (C1), and showed me what the rates are (regardless of agency) for that client.
So, is that anything to do with this De Poel crap? And if not, what is it?

hi iv just found a web site www.depoelconsulting.com. who claim to have personnel files from 4000 UK agencies does any one know more about this .?
This now a very long thread, but we strongly suggest that anyone working for an agency, or considering doing so read it ALL and make up their own mind which agency is best for them … de Poel registered or non-de Poel registered

Services such as yours are despicable and I do not want any information about me held by yourselves. I am taking all possible steps to ensure as many drivers hear about this and also withdraw permission for you to hold information about them.
I agree with Conor, I believe under the Data Protectiona Act they do not have right to hold personal inforamtion for commercial gain if such a right is not granted, and confirmed in writing. If working for an Agency it may be that there was a clause in the small print that gave such permissions, so who knows.
I will do some digging through the DPA to see what I can find and post tomorrow.
i thinks i will be sending that off i cant see how they could do it anyway as i thought it was against the data protection act to hold that sort of info without prior permision
I have just had a look on the Information Commissioners site & found this.
