It looked in remarkably good condition there , it looks like a khaki colour scheme it survived well.Im looking forward to seeing the restoration pictures.I wonder why they didnt make many mkv mandator lwb models , i know they made quite a few mk111 and ergo versions and to be honest the mkv looks a really smart vehicle. What year was the Foden you picked it up with ,i had a 1984 Foden with a 320 Gardner in it and apart from the headroom i thought it was a great lorry.
Ha - dont get me started ramone, i dont know what year or model or what engine that thing had in it as i was not interested in the least it was available at the time, for me to use foc and for that i was thank ful for the awful experience of driving the thing i was less than thankful, even Ron (whose foden it was ) admitted it was not as good as an AEC mandator

Ha ha through rose tinted glasses i would assume, but then again i came off a Renault 290 GT when i got my Foden and trust me if the foreign invasion had started with the likes of that thing we would still have british lorry manufacturing
It probably never looked so good when new was it a late registered 1 i have seen some that were registered in the early `70s?
Hiya if you go to the peak district site there a a line of callagan mm6’s on J&K regs… word is that wimpey ordered a batch of MM6’s
then back ordered them and into storage they went, then when leyland go their foot in the door they released them. companies like
douglas concrete callagan and a few other companies jumped at the offer to buy them… i think most of them was built in 1966/67
I think you’ll find the wimpey lorry is a 1966 on a D plate.
John
The MkV cabbed vehicle was available until 1974 IIRC - for tipper applications like this – prompted, I guess, by Wimpey - who bought lots of them
The Ergo cabbed version was not as good on site due to the lower mounted radiator getting damaged/ obscured - leading to overheating.
