Wartime Photo… about little is known except it was taken after a fire at one of Smith Bros’ flour mills

I have seen that picture years ago and I’m sure it was at Worksop mill, but Walsall mill had a very old boundary wall with newer buildings ajoining it plus the Ford is Walsall registered and probably supplied by Reginald Tildesley at Willenhall, here is a pic of their Langley Mill now demolished,

White Road Commander operated by Travancore Transport, Melbourne. Photographed in 1988. Specification…wait for it Gardner 8LXB 240 with 14-speed Spicer 1214-2A gearbox and Rockwell rear bogie. One of two identical Whites and Travancore had used Gardner engines since 1937.
