Some of us have been burnt at the stake by the Roman Catholics.I dont hate Catholics but we arent one and the same religion.

Ah, yes, your “loving God”, whole load of followers who simply want to emulate these guys

And you still can’t see why the rest of us think you’re insane?

No,I cant see why, because it wasnt Gods instruction to them to do it.

Catholics were the first Christians, so what religion are you ■■

You say you were ‘Saved’ by USA Southern Baptists, should the local police monitor you in case you take an automatic assault rifle to your local school for a Baptist Massacre ■■

As somebody else said,.if he was spouting the same crap as an Islamist he’d be on the Special Branch watch list.
We should stop indulging him,.he’s the stereo typical religious nut job, they thrive on all this stuff,.they see it as their life’s work to ‘spread the word’ to the ‘unbelievers’ :unamused: .and do so at every tenuous opportunity…as illustrated on this thread.
I once stopped to ask a guy directions,.he told me,.and proceeded to ask if I ‘believed in the Lord’ and pulled out these religious pamphlets. :unamused: …that is what they are like, as anybody who is unlucky to work alongside one of these will know. :bulb:

As for his ‘thing’ with me (thread title) …I think he sees me as the ultimate challenge.

Robroy.
Catholics believe in doing good works, praying to Mary and the “saints”.
It was a false religion formed in the 3rd century to control the masses and get money for indulgences.
We dont follow any of those things.

Here is a link for you to read.
But really, its not about me,you originally invited me to convert you and I thought, great but then, when I tried to do this, you called me for everthing and made me the subject of the conversation instead of your need to hear the truth.I remember, walking throigh Birmingham many years ago,a llady tried to offer me religois leaflets but I told her no thanks,Im a catholic and she said, dont you realise catholicism is false religion. But all I was inttested in was finding where the pub was for a drinking sessiin. The time wasnt right, but who would have thought, now years later,I realise the treasure she had to offer.I

Its funny,I remember the leaflet she had “Church of the Living Christ”.I have googled it,thete doesnt seem to be any trace of this church in Birmingham at the time but anyway,Ill see her on the other side!
But as regards forums,I was on this catholic forum and when I started posting,it wasnt long before I got banned from the forum and this could have happened here if you back me into a corner about a contraversial topic and I cant say the truth bevause I end uo banned from this site too and then its game over

I invited you to convert me?? :open_mouth:

I remember a joke about a lad who agreed to be converted, he was taken to a rugby field and kicked over the posts. Apologies for thread drift.

You engaged him which is the internet version of making eye contact with the fella in the park wearing a fish on his head and shouting at the trees.

To be fair the argument between creation/creator/God v evolution of humanity from a bit of seawater froth and foam is a bit saner, deeper and more scientific than that.Although belief in the latter would fit your definition better.

Heavens to Murgatroyd… :unamused: You really need professional help of some kind or other (but not just “you”, I’m referring to all of your kind). Being unable to distinguish fact from fiction is one of the cornerstones of many psychological disorders. The only reason people like yourself aren’t mandated to have sessions with people in white coats is because society (for historical reasons) indulges your particular brand of mental ill-health.

As for your “they’re not part of MY gang” attitude: Lets try an analogy: I presume you drive a car, let’s say for the sake of argument it’s a Ford, I drive a car, let’s say it’s a Peugeot, A.N.Other member of TN drives a Fiat, or Vauxhall or Toyota.

We’re all car drivers, all cars do the same basic function of getting you from A to B. There’s really no difference at the fundamental level. It makes no difference to anyone else what label you put on it, it’s still just a car.

You can stick whatever label you like on your “relationship” with your imaginary friend in the sky, it’s still an ancient fairy story told by another flesh and blood person, once upon a time.

There are no “instructions” from your imaginary friend in the sky, the things you think are, are actually just ink on paper put there by some other delusional human. To the rest of us rational people, you’re all exactly the same whatever you call yourselves.

To borrow a few comments from Stephen Fry, "Of course there’s no God, if there was we wouldn’t have…

Oncology.jpeg

Fry had an imagined conversation with your imaginary friend, labelling him “an evil, capricious, monstrous maniac” .

I’d go further than that and use a four-letter adjective that wouldn’t get past the auto-censor, because when my daughter broke her arm, she was in the church attached to her school.

I despise the way that Christians believe their self-delusion entitles them to claim that everything that appears good or valuable in society must, by default, emanate from their branded delusion: One of your ilk (Theo Hobson) has even had the arrogance to claim that “God Created Humanism” :open_mouth:

Is there anyone reading this who has never lied, never stolen anything, never commited adultery(just looking with ■■■■,Jesus classed adultery, ddishonoured their parents?
Right,so now weve established you are a lying theiving ,adultering sinner by your own admission. If there is a perfect God,you dont deserve to be in His presence because He is perfect and youre not.I hit a nerve here,I know, but how many times do you have to kl someone to be a murderer?
Once! Thats all it takes
I remember years ago,as a teenager,I was given a Bible.I remember reading

biblegateway.com/passage/?s … ersion=KJV
Once to die then the judgement.
Now,this doesnt sound like fun to me.Yu meet God face to face for judgement and its not as if you can just blag your way out of it like you do at work if you are in trouble. He will know all those times you lied or stole or whatever it was.And why shouldnt you face perfect justice, after all,you want justice when someone wrongs you,do you not?
Now is the time to settle out of court before that day because God will be merciless in the execution of His rightous justice

Belief in a merciless God seems like an oxymoron.I guess ‘judgement’ probably just means God’s ability to recognise genuine repentance and regret of our human flaws as opposed to those who celebrate evil doing.
By that standard I doubt if God would take kindly to being called merciless.

HAHAHAHA.

Trully.

If there is a god, I would not want anything to do with him. The devil was cast down, not because he was bad, but because he refused tobow to your god, and because he didn’t like yourgods

Trully. The preacher shows his true face.

If there is a god, I would not want anything to do with him. The devil was cast down, not because he was bad, but because he refused tobow to your god, and because he didn’t like your gods evil ways.
The devil is actually the nice guy. He lets you make your own decisions, judged by your own morality. As for the depiction of hell, that is another story made up by your side. It’s not fiery pits and pitchforks. Your side rules through fear.

Christianity and in particular the Baptist varieties is so full of the dread of Judgment Day and Fire & Brimstone.

My final visit to a Baptist Church was for my mother’s funeral, the minister was the usual poorly educated and unquestioning being.
Being the oldest son & therefore Head of the Family I had to sit at the front and try to avoid making eye contact with him, lest he accosted me afterwards to make conversation.

After a long and tedious session of bible readings, out-of-tune hymn singing, and a dread of Judgment Day sermon, I was almost asleep and not quick enough to escape the Minister’s clutches.
So I asked him why he had focused so much on Fear, Dread, Doom, and Judgement, his answer was “Well you do want to go to heaven don’t you?”
I replied “I can’t think of anything worse than being stuck with you lot, bored off my ■■■■ by you lot, no I’m looking forward to hell with all my friends” at which point I made my escape.

Thankfully that’s the end of Baptists in my family and I won’t ever have to darken the door of a Baptist Church again.

An old one but…
A man died and arrived at the pearly gates. The gatekeeper invited him in.
“Welcome. Ill give you a little tour around" "Thanks. Im glad Im here, but am rather surprised. I wasnt much of a church goer”
St Peter “Ah, dont worry. We take all sorts here" "And actually although Im taking you around today, we have guides from all the religions youve ever heard of. People (or ex-people  ) tend to stay in their groups at first, but mix more after a while" "Oh, thats good. So I can go and mix anywhere? Great”
They walk on a bit, and come to a high wall.
“SShhh” says St Peter, “quiet here”
“Whats up?" "Oh the XXXs are in there, and they think theyre all alone up here!”

Reminds me of another one Frangers:

A group of shipwrecked sailors was eventually found some years after they were lost, the rescuers were impressed with the industry they had shown in fending for themselves, building houses and even 2 chapels.

But they were puzzled by one of the chapels being built at the top of a distant hill. When asked why, the castaways explained: “That’s the one we don’t go to”

Right,so now weve established you are a lying theiving ,adultering sinner by your own admission. If there is a perfect God,you dont deserve to be in His presence because He is perfect and youre not.

But you’re forgetting, he/she is not real so we rationally minded people don’t need mythical horror stories, no matter how naughty we have, or have not, been.

You religionists, its all about judging other people isn’t it?

I don’t imagine you’re familiar with the TV show “Dexter”, but for those who are, Season 6 of Dexter, Travis Marshall, deranged biblical-themed serial killer, is that Sploom in the making?

EDIT: I note you chose to ignore my challenge that if your imaginary friend was real then he would indeed be the supreme evil barsteward of the universe to endorse the need for a Children’s Cancer Ward. That’s a pretty sick religion you’ve got there.
