A religion question for Robroy, but will he give me a straigh

I don’t know any other way to say this, but constantly quoting paragraphs from your book of fairy stories is utterly pointless, 99% of TN members don’t care about these words.

Your clearly obsessive compulsion to believe these verses could sway any rational person to join you in your world of homophobic and misogynistic delusion is deeply concerning to those of us with a more balanced psyche.

Religious devotion: a risk factor for mental illness

Ok,but there might be new people who join the forum that might be intrested.
I looked at the article.I agree with the bit about thoughts. When men do evil things,do they not think about it first?I would guess they do.I bet serial killers spend a lot of time thinking before they actually do it.They need to guard their thoughts.
If you have lustful thoughts about another mans wife, its not good is it? Even if you dont it any further than that

Sploom:
Ok,but there might be new people who join the forum that might be intrested.

Trust me mate there ain’t, you are in a very small minority.
I ain’t saying everybody on here is non religious., what I am saying is they ain’t manic religious like yourself.
So even if there are new guys on the forum, leave them the ■■■■ alone. :unamused:
Why do you ■■■■ lot forever feel the need to pester people and try and sell them the crap you believe in?
It’s like if I get a cold call trying to sell me ■■■■ insurance or something, I’ll.either tell them to ■■■■ off and not bother me, or if in a less arsey mood, I’ll say along the lines of…‘‘If ever I want insurance,.I will ring YOU instead’’

Sploom:
Ok,but there might be new people who join the forum that might be intrested.

Even if there WERE any value in your belief system, evangelising to people who aren’t interested would devalue it to gutter level. It’s not that you’re religious that bothers people, it’s your extremism.

Your lot Sploom sound even worse than Jehova’s Witnesses.

A few years ago a pair of them had the barefaced ZB cheek to knock on my door on Xmas morning.

Having been brought up in a similar outfit I was well-versed in their sales pitch (probably yours too Sploom), so I wasn’t going to let them off lightly.

With a smile, I invited them in, sat them down & offered them a drink - which of course they refused - anyway I set about educating them, still polite & smiling it took about ten minutes before they rushed for the door thinking I was Satan himself.

Never been bothered by them since.

EDIT: When all you have is texts out of a book compiled over 000’s of years going back to the Stone Age and influenced/changed by tyrants of many flavours, you don’t have much to support your arguments.

An anti gay policy of Bigotry seems to be a common link with these head case religious types, '‘Orthodox Christians’ this time apparentlly. :unamused:

Makes me laugh all this stuff you know
,.I remember our vicar telling us as kids at Conformation classes , that in essence there should be no need for the 10 commandments, if everybody lived their life for good…the concept of what Jesus said ‘Love thy neighbour as thyself’ would be sufficient as that covers most or all of the Commandments.

Seems most of these these ■■■■ ers do not practice what they preach…quite literally. :unamused:

Paul the Apostle: Did his homosexuality shape Christianity?

Paul’s struggle against his own homosexual desires in an intolerant society may have inspired Paul the Apostle to write sublime Biblical teachings on unconditional love and inclusivity — and also a few “clobber passages” used by anti-LGBTQ bigots.

Both Paul’s sense of unworthiness and his appreciation for God’s grace may have the same unexpected cause: Some scholars believe that Paul was a celibate homosexual man trying to reconcile faith and ■■■■■■■■■ in a culture that condemned same-■■■ attraction. This may have been the “thorn in the flesh” that God refused to remove despite his prayers.

Such Pauline paradoxes have long fascinated people of faith while alienating some progressives. He wrote magnificent meditations on inclusivity and petty rules that have divided people by fueling sexism, racism and antisemitism.

As a young Christian, I wasn’t very keen on the “teachings of Saul of Tarsus”, being a man who’d not actually met Christ in the flesh at all, and actually approved of the first Christian Martyr, that of Stephen…
Acts Chapter Six.

That this Saul of Tarsus became later an apparent turncoat for the cause - is doubted by those “Heretics” like myself, that have removed themselves from the officialdom of “Organized Religion” being part of the problem, rather than the solution - that has been the case for some time now.

Read Acts 6: and see there how much in common that time was nearly 2000 years ago, and the machinations of the modern deep state, and their minions today. :open_mouth:

If you’re the Devil, and you want to put as many people off as possible for even consdering a conversion to Christianity, Judaism, or Islam - then what do you push?

Catholic: “Having ■■■■■■ relations for any purpose other than the procreation with your legal spouse - is a mortal sin”.
Result? Anyone who enjoys ■■■, be they male or female - is basically told “Better not sign up to a relgious faith then!” The “Holier than Thou” mainstay, that.
“Celibacy” is in someway a “good and right thing to do”… It ain’t. You’ll die out within a single generation, if you think about it, too!

Jewish: Christ himself was persecuted for pushing back against the establishment Jewish religion of the day. Always yet another “loaded question” given to him from the Scribes, Pharisees, and “teachers of the law” to attempt to bring him down in his own lifetime…

Islam: Their prophet has subverted God out of their own faith, meaning an awful lot of modern Muslims believe that the “Cause” is now more important than “Pleasing Allah” in one’s life.
It is apparently OK for young Muslim lads to be totally abusive to females, be they of their own number, or the country that is now host for them.
Young female Muslims though? - Where are they? - I thought the “People Boats” were full of such young ladies, feeling relgious persecution in their old countries and all…?
I don’t recall ever seeing that awaited image of a young Iranian medical student, ritually ripping off her Hijab for the last time on the boat crossing out of the Middle East where she’d surely be persecuted for acting thus…? A strong argument THAT she should come all the way to blighty, and not stop off on the way - eh? Why doesn’t this ever seem to happen though■■?

Christ refers to the Devil as “That Fox” in reference to the sheer cunning of the creature bound to this Earth…

The very concept of keeping as many humans trapped on this planet as possible is the bigger picture that everyone is missing here.

As an analogy, you are sitting in a McDonals in a shopping mall, and you get told there is a bomb set to go off in 15 minutes, and could you please evactuate …

Forget that in real life for a moment, you’d be man-handled out the nearest door by security… Would you (if you could…) continue with your meal you’ve just bought and paid for, or would you drop everything, including leaving your Iphone on the table, in a bid to make the nearest exit, before that 15 minute countdown has expired?

The Devil is a true expert in “Human Nature” having gone fully native during millenia of being trapped down here with the rest of us mere mortals…

You’re not going to consider “Going up there” this out-of-reach place above and beyond our world - if you can get satisfaction during your punitively short lifespans here on Earth - are you?

“He lived life to the Full”…? That cheesy line oft-said at Cremations in particular…
“But now he burns in hell, and the gateway - is just through this hatch here…” - the reality…

Why people are so seemingly keen to be burned down to skeleton crumb “Cremains”, then put in the cement-mixer-like “Cremulator” device to be ground up into the powder that can then be put into an urn as ashes - is beyond me… One thing is for sure. 100% of any DNA still present gets destroyed during this process, so future science has 0% chance of ever resurrecting your totally unique, never-to-be-repeated DNA strand ever again - Right?

Why would we so celebrate such a total and utter destruction of everything we ever were as former living humans on this planet■■?

Even the Greensters - get a point here for wanting their remains at least to promote natural green growth in due course?

Green Burial.jpg

With the price of fertilizer being what it is these days, we don’t even hear of people asking for their ashes to be scattered up a farmer’s field - do we?

Even the likes of Johnny Rotten seem to think that taking the urn containing the ashes of his late wife to bed - is a perfectly normal thing to do…?

It would be better for humans everywhere to believe and disbelieve everything - based on their own personal experiences, rather than what they’ve been told by others…
Leave the “Others Believed” items for “Life and Death Matters”, I’d suggest.

I suggest that there’s no one on here, regardless of “Faith” - who’d try to “Lick a Live Rail” as a stupid “Bet”, and yet those same idiots might try in the meantime to down a cocktail shot laced with liquid nitrogen, “For a Lark”, you understand…

It’s impossible to get someone to believe something maybe, but surely it isn’t hard to make people disbelieve that a regular practice is now somehow bad for you, such as drinking liquids at -196c, jumping off quaysides whilst inebriated, or leaning out of train/car windows going along at high speed…

When I was at school, we used to get shown the harsher realities of “misadventure” behaviour in those old “Public Information Films”…
This one haunts me still, and I don’t recall it being from 1989 like it says… But from at least a decade earlier…

Most of us are not electricians, but we won’t tempt fate by attempting to doubt what we’ve been told about electricity from those in the know - right?

The English accent seems to have changed since 1989!

Sploom:
The English accent seems to have changed since 1989!

We’re not an Empire anymore.

imo it is the Imperial Accent that has declined almost out of existance by this point…

What does the Bible say about homosexual & necrophiliac Ducks, Sploom??

Ducks behave pretty badly, it seems. It is not so much that up to one in 10 of mallard couples are homosexual, but they regularly indulge in “attempted ■■■■ flights” when they pursue other ducks with a view to forcible mating.

I guess that’s the downside of creating the Universe in 7 days, things are bound to end up a bit messy.

Im still waiting for an answer on the abortion issue.God allows disabled babies to be born but what about all the babies that we allow to be killed before they are born?
How can one be right and the other wrong?
Im not answering any more questions until I get an answer on this…

According to you, everything is God’s will right or wrong, otherwise it wouldn’t happen.

Same as the homosexual & necrophiliac Ducks, creating the Universe in 7 days means things are bound to end up a bit messy.

Ok,so if someone burgles my house, its not their fault, its Gods will

> Sploom:
> Ok,so if someone burgles my house, its not their fault, its Gods will

You can’t have it both ways Sploom, either your God is omnipotent or not.

It is a problem for me,I have to be honest.I really dont know.
Yes,He is omnipotent. But allows bad things to happen

No,its not Gods will, but He allows bad things to happen

> Sploom:
> No,its not Gods will, but He allows bad things to happen

Same thing Sploom, if he is Omnipotent - you can’t duck out that easily when it doesn’t suit your ‘Blind leading the Blind’ dogma.

You can’t just have it as God’s will when it suits you & not God’s will when it doesn’t suit you.

If it was Gods will for bad things to heppen,He wouldnt be a good God.I think we can agree on that.
