delboytwo:
my point is on the bases of the 6x24 hours from 0.00 Mon till 24.00 sun and to the question 0.00 Tues till 24 00 Tues you only show 8 hours and as you no rest can not be take before so the hours rest show in that 24 hour period show only 8
I now refer you to this -
tachograph:
To stop any further confusion this bit needs clarifying, the start of a new shift (or end of a daily or weekly rest period) does trigger a new 24 hour period for the relevance of the daily rest requirements, but not for the 6 x 24 hour periods that this thread is about.
The 24 hours you refer to is a different one - “it is unfortunate that the terminology of the words ‘24 hour period’ is used in both the different parts of the regulations - one meaning is to describe the 144 hour part (6 X 24 hour periods) and the other to descride the rest needed in each 24 hour period of a shift” - I did not say that - it was a quote from the tacho regs expert I called this morning.
Must admit to getting totally lost trying to follow the different answers to the question. Hopefully this will clarify the situation;
Absolutely nothing wrong with having 7 ‘charts’ for 6 ‘days.’ A couple of things we have to make clear;
we are talking about a journey run under the EU rules contained in Council Regulation (EC) 561/2006. Between each ‘daily driving period’ there is a ‘daily rest period’ which will be at least 11 hours, or where allowed 9 hours. The total driving in the fixed week (00:00 Monday to 24:00 the following Sunday) does not exceed 56 hours. The total of work & driving in the fixed week cannot exceed 60 hours. Between the end of the weekly rest and the start of the next weekly rest there may be a maximum of six 24 hour periods (144 hours) or put it another way; if you end a weekly rest at 06:00 Wednesday you must start your next weekly rest no later than 06:00 on Tuesday the following week.
This pattern of having more cards than days is typical of short shifts with not very much driving in them, used to see it with some market traders.

Well you learn something new every day.
i had 25 charts in 5 days and ten printouts
Several vehicles per shift I would say.
it was one very busy week move about 50 for mots and to customers and some trailer pick ups as well when i started the job i only dropped trailer 2 time before i left a had dropped 300 + in 3 month work or and one literally went running down the yard
MADBAZ:
NO NO NO please don’t confuse things anymore, your on about GB Domestic Rules (which incidently have 24 hour days), would peeps please RTFM HERE
If this is about GB domestic rules, what’s he doing getting on a bout going to Belgium?
berewic:
Is there a deliberate mistake here or Is it no longer an offence to drive more than ten hrs in a any 24hr period?
Under tacho regs it’s not an offence and there has been no changes to that rule for as far back as I can remember.
If there has been no changes to the rules then it is an offence.
Mon 0600-1400hrs with 6hrs driving
Mon 2300hrs-Tues morn 0700hrs, 6hrs driving adds up to 12hrs driving in a 25hrs period or 11hrs driving in a 24hr period.
How many hours driving can I do in any 24hr period?

article 4 (k)
‘daily driving time’ means the total accumulated driving time BETWEEN THE END OF ONE DAILY REST PERIOD AND THE BEGINNING OF THE FOLLOWING DAILY REST PERIOD or between a daily rest period and a weekly rest period.
So i was right !
Gotta tell the wife , first time in a while .
Have to say it’s amazing how many people still have not grasped the rule changes from april 2007 . It’s amazing to me that vosa ( or whomever ) can introduce new rules to vast amounts of lgv licence holders , and not inform them all via the simple medium of a letter . It’s also fair to say that some drivers simply can’t get their heads around the fact that it is not additional rules but new ones REPLACING the old . Now where is that gendarme ? Gotta tell him about EUROPE !
So if I do 10hrs driving in 11& half hrs, take a nine, put in a new card and do the same the next day, take a nine and do 9hrs driving on the 3rd day, I’m not committing any offences?

A canny bloke would not tell the Wife but wait until she has one over on him and THEN tell her so as to address the balance - well. a bit, you never can ‘WIN’

Only in your mind. There is no restriction on the driving in 24 calendar hours.

Around 13.5 and remain legal.
Example
Start work Monday 06:00
Shift of 10 hours consisting of 9 hours driving, 15 minutes other work and 45 minutes break.
