Right, bear with me on this before you say its not legal…
My mate Johnny(Scania Doctor on T/N) is in Letchworth tonight, Tommorow he has tip Letchworth, reload Tamworth, Solihull and Littlehampton then due to ADR reasons ship out of Tilbury at 10am Wednesday Morning… Now, due to parking issues at Tilbury he is going to park at Littlehampton tomorrow night, then run the 2 and half hours to the boat Wednesday morning… Now the boat crossing is 9 hours, so he will have had a legal break by the time he docks in Zeebrugge(or made up a split 11 ferry rest), So therefore will have a completely clean card to start with from Zeebee…But, if he works Saturday, which is looking likely at this stage, that will make a 7th Card(He’s on Digi, but you know what i mean), but all his break wil be legal and above board…
So,basically, is it legal to use 7 cards in 6 days, providing all your breaks and rests are legal??
Use as many cards as you want . No specific law relating to how many cards you use . In fact you can now work on 7 consecutive days as long as you don’t succeed 144 hrs for your working week .

We both thought this was the case, but thought it better to check with those who do know…
A driver must start a weekly rest period after no more than six daily driving periods. The weekly rest
period may be postponed until the end of the sixth day if the total driving time over the six days does
not exceed the maximum corresponding to six daily driving periods.Weekly rest periods

why not use ramsgate, or Dartford, and you
can park there so get away with movement if done
correctly .6 driveing periods is (will be) counted
as 6 periods,

No Pete, ADR Class 6.1 Packing Group 1 is very hard to ship, and they use Tilbury all the time.
Anyway, the class of ADR isnt the question, the question is… Can you use 7 cards in 6 days…
I would say, based on my reading of the law [stand to be corrected, with proof ] that yes it’s illegal. The law says “6 daily driving periods”, that scenario is 7 IMO in this case it isn’t the hours total involved but the “daily driving periods”

Yeah, fair comment, but I think I’ll stick with the other one that says “6 driving periods” we all know that powers that be read rules how they want, more so in euro land ~{still got a clean bill there, want to keep it that way }
Would be interested to hear the opinions of our “uniformed colleagues” that post on here.
Weekly rest periods (EU Regs)
A driver must start a weekly rest period no later than at the end of six consecutive 24-hour periods from the end of the last weekly rest period.
It seems that if you can fit it in as Rog suggests then its perfectly legal but i under AETR then it’s a no no.
(THESE ARE AETR REGS FOR OUTSIDE EU)

ROG ;AFTER 6 driveing periods the law states a weekly rest
is DUE; UNLESS you have say 36hrs left to drive that week
and so after say 5days you driveing time is finished, then you
must start your weekly rest,SO ITS A WEEKEND REST
after 6 daily driveing periods,
As far as I understand it’s 6 consecutive 24 hour periods, not 6 shifts. So if you start at 06:00hrs on Monday you must start your weekend break before 06:00 the following Sunday.
"Within six 24-hour periods from the end of their last weekly rest, drivers must extend their daily rest period into a weekly rest period. This may be either the regular 45-hour weekly rest or a reduced period of at least 24 hours. "
that’s what vosa says
what I’m interested in is, if for example I start driving at 10pm sunday after completing a weekly rest, then drive for 4.5h, take 9h off and then have a full 9h of driving (with a break of course), am I breaking something somewhere?
Under EU regs, the maximum permissible is four 9 hour and two 10 hour driving days. That your days are shorter doesn’t matter. Six, is the magic number (just like the Bible).
Totally, in point of fact between your first and second shift you’ve managed to drive 11 hours in one 24 hour period, put your hand out for the cane and take six of the best
