Nice pic, if the tilt body on the truck is 6m, the trailer must be at least 10m? Long outfit

Rob Wookey decided to freshen up Sals 143 during the last few weeks armed with sanding pads a tub of metal filler , fibreglass & resin & a big pot of red paint, still got a few bits on the chassis to do & she’s still working , so was a real case of freshen up & get it back on the road rather than a full refurb, but along with new paint on the trailer it’s turned out pretty ■■■■ good !

Tell him Rob to bring it to the Retro truck show next month.
Neil.

i’ll ask , but it will depend if sally (the wife) will let him drive it !

don’t know the name , but it’s a white with blue stripes 143 with growling stacks on it hauling logs was written off last week apparently, used to see him regular on the M5,A303, M27 anyone know anymore ?

Sounds like Walters Brothers from cadnam near Southampton. Haven’t read anything on the Southampton thread but I hope your mistaken because they seemed to have done a lot of work on that over the last few years. Your right though it does have some “growl” outa those stacks.

Cheers

Took this shot of two Mount Hooley’s trucks whilst on our way back up from Alicante.

The driver sat in the G reg is Willy Evans (a long time Ralph Davies driver), the one with his trousers down I only knew as Ady - anyone recognise him? lol

I would recognise that face anywhere, it is Ady Harper a long time hooleys driver, he now has his own tipper working around the Gloucester area.

is that Bubbsy who was at Ralphs in the early ninety’s when i was there?

Dougie Drake

Very smart, classic 143!

Hope they took their thermals!

this picture was taken in Kiev in January 1994 the Scania was driven by a bloke called Waxie and i was the driving the FH16 parked behind on its maiden trip. Optic Bob Irvin also ran out with us and and a couple of other ralphs also rolled up which may have been Bubbsy and Maggot. i remember this photo like yesterday

Didn`t need thermals ADR, just a sense of humour, and a good night heater, and a good thick quilt, and anything else that could keep you warm
