Yeah I agree, a four wheeler always looks better (unless a bonnet is involved) but all the same, that’s a proper tool

DEFINATELY!!! But, if a tractor unit must have a 3rd axle, it should be at the back!! deffo a ‘tag’ over a ‘mid’

Ross.

Yep, or a twin screw…hahahha, got that in before Carryfast

My 1988 143 still working hard last week, this time a Chieftain Tank with turret removed still weighed some 35 tons!

When she was younger, pre conversion to double drive!!

Owned from new by Brian Hankin & based at the old Whitchards yard at Lymington Bottom, Four Marks. Used on general haulage, pulling for Arena Promotions from Newbury & PMH European (Paul Harrod) on tilt work to Italy.

Regards,
Jed.

Hi Jed
Was that the witchards that ran the green cattle trucks & the
bulk tippers used to know few of there drivers ?
Regards Geoff.

Took this shot of two Mount Hooley’s trucks whilst on our way back up from Alicante.

The driver sat in the G reg is Willy Evans (a long time Ralph Davies driver), the one with his trousers down I only knew as Ady - anyone recognise him? lol

Hello Geoff,
I believe so.
They used run old seddon atkinsons on the bulk, think the owner was Ray Whitchard.

Regards,
Jed.

I would recognise that face anywhere, it is Ady Harper a long time hooleys driver, he now has his own tipper working around the Gloucester area.

my 43 she needs some tlc

re: mike p,very nice. 3 Series Scanias are the only trucks that look right without the fairing kit in my opinion. I think i have already posted this, and i have some other shots somewhere when i dig them out!! loved this truck!!
