Correct. The first 2 would have to be within the first week and therefore need a weekly rest before being allowed to do another 2x10.
Could you do this if you are away from base?
If i’m right in thinking you could take 24hrs weekly from 1200 sun to 1200 mon for example, leaving enough time to fit it in, unless of course the weekly rest has to be taken between the weekly start and finish

You’re both wrong. You can do a 10h drive sat/sun/mon/tue quite legally as the rules, as the OP correctly said, are that you can do 2x10h per fixed week. Obviously this is only the case if in the first week you have not already done any 10h drives when you start work on the Saturday.

10 hour drives come under fixed week rules, weekly rest requirements come under rolling week rules.
I was suprised at the answer, technically you can drive 58 hours if you work across the weekend:

Fri 9
Sat10
Sun 10
Mon 10
Tue 10
wed 9

As HM has already pointed out, nothing in the rules says you need to have a weekly rest to “reset” your 10h drives so you can legally do 4 in a row without anything more than a normal 9 or 11h daily rest inbetween them.
The 3 allowed reduced daily rests, on the other hand, are not “per week” but “between weekly rest periods” and as such you need at least a 24h reduced weekly reset to “reset” them.
You would think it would be easier if they both worked on the same basis but just to confuse us all they work differently…

i must be a major fool because i keep reading up on them.
Nope aint no troll - since i have had to do this bloody DCPC lark it has left me with too many unexplaied questions, and my dad was pushing me to be the DCPC trainer at our place, and i decided against it. But now i have done my 5 lots of 7 hours to be honest I am in a further muddle than I was before, and I do only post once a week or so, because my world is mad, and Sat and Sunday is about the only time I aint having to do a 1000 other things.
Alot of the information i get on here is fab, and I wont say i dont appreciate it - but my folks are still on at me about being our companies trainer and to be honest i am scared to death that they will push me into it. So I am doing as much learning as i can
