driver is a kn0b however why when bridge strikes happen, this is 16ft1 trailer most likely, why hasnt the driver even after impact, just quickly lower axle, low suspension, low trailer suspension and hope there just pensioners driving behind and quickly go lol

Let’s get this right .The English figure 1 is just a straight vertical line.
Yes.
Let`s get this right:
Since before you were born UK signs have had the figure " 1 " with a sloping cap.
If you have only just realised this, that says much , much, more about you, than I wish to consider.
The capital letter I has two horizontal ends.

L -I think has only 1 horizontal line-but who are any of us to argue with CF
Courtesy of gov.uk, standard UK road signs, several of which show the straight line number one with the sloping cap. How this could be new to CF, I do not know.

From 1968 Highway Code, note the 1 on the “10 Tons” sign, straight line with a sloping cap

To be fair to the driver the trailer design looks ( a lot ) lower at its front than back end.The front clearly having cleared the bridge.
It’s easy to understand anyone getting caught out by adding the overall front end height of the trailer to the unit’s 5th wheel height when setting the indicator.
It would also be worth checking the height of the bridge v the signage.
Strangely the same joke 10 foot meme also appears on at least one dodgy local bridge here in Surrey and obviously nowhere near that one, that would be a miracle if it actually meets its posted signage and having claimed one or two victims in its time.
I think it’s probably just as well you don’t drive anymore.

Why I obviously didn’t nor wouldn’t have hit a bridge that looks like it’s lower than it’s marked height with a trailer that is clearly higher at the back than the front regardless of fifth wheel height.

Obviously a variation on the continental 1 with a far more understated stroke at the top for obvious reasons which is why no road signs even on the continent contain the stroked continental 7.
The font in this case is more like a continental 1 combined with the base of a capital I so strange stands.

I knew hard evidence wouldn’t penetrate the atmosphere of that non-Earth planet you live on; between your twisted denial of reality, and Sploom’s talking animal reality, I’m almost scared to leave the house in case there are more of you out there
Having had a look on Street view, I would be more interested in how did he get under the 15’ bridge at Forest Hill on the South Circular at a travelling height greater than 15’9"?

And what advance warning signs there are at the two alternative possibilities to arrive at Catford Bridge from the West. So where are they at Bellgreen/ Perry Hill/ Catford Hill and Brockley Rise?
There is a sign on Stansted rd just before the junction with Catford Hill but that is on a route sign and there is a bus lane with traffic lights alongside . There is also a flashing turn back sign around 50 yards earlier but the latest street view shows that as laying at an angle, has it been put back properly?

The only way I can picture is from Croydon then Crystal Palace, Sydenham.
I can find a sign and illuminating warning here

I’ve suggested ai link between the sarcastic, but weird font, 10 foot writing on certain bridges and the possibility that it signifies that the bridges in question aren’t accurately signed. Also the front of that trailer clearly hasn’t hit any bridge anywhere.Whats your problem with those observations.

Maybe because the bridge in question ain’t 15’9’’ clearance ?.Which is why someone has gone to all the trouble of writing the 10 foot ■■■■ take.Just like the bridge miles away at Ditton in Surrey.

Don’t let me jolt your worldview here, but unfortunately that guy wasn’t / isn’t a tireless servant helping out drivers of high vehicles and calling out corruption in high office whereby bridges are marked up wrong in an underground conspiracy to move freight on to the railway.

I had a look to see where the B&M RDCs and shops are to try and make some sense of how this lorry got to where it ended up. The nearest RDC seems to be in Bedford with shops south of the river at Tolworth, Kingston, Old Kent rd, Bromley (Bellingham), Orpington, Kidbrooke, Charlton & Dartford. There are several further out to the East and West. I’ll hazard a guess the driver was making for Bromley. So how many drops do you put on a double decker going into London with a return journey to Bedford? Because of the bridges at Tolworth & Ewell making the A232 through from Croydon to the A21 unsuitable, they would possibly be paired with either a store North of the river or further West. So maybe this was (Charlton) (Kidbrooke), Old Kent Rd, Bromley, Orpington, Dartford but that sounds a lot to do even if breaks can be taken in-store and unloading/reloading time isn’t excessive. It needs only to be two drops for this happen.
I’ll guess he was certainly no more than 16’ and was between Old Kent rd (Rotherhithe New rd) and Bromley and should have gone: A2 to the bottom of Blackheath Hill and then right down through Lewisham to Bromley (Bellingham, actually virtually next to Catford Bus Garage).
Or, if having to avoid New Cross because of Lorry Ban rules then: Rotherhithe New rd A200 Evelyn st right Deptford Church st and resume route at Deptford Bridge. However all of this falls apart if he is higher because there are many 16’ bridges.
Instead maybe - he’s taken a short cut via A2215/ B238 Peckham Park rd, Peckham Hill rd, Rye Lane, Peckham Rye, Honor Oak Park and Brockley Rise to join Stanstead rd South Circular and bang - stupid.

Realistically if you’re driving a >16’ let alone 16’ > high truck into Tolworth or Kingston from Bedford the options are so limited they are laughable. The A3 Hook Underpass and the Tolworth A240 railway bridge are just two traps.I’d also even have my doubts about the Kingston one way system railway bridge if using the M3 Hampton Court Kingston Bridge route.
Best option seems to be A3 to Esher then Esher to Hinchley Wood and Hook slip road and roundabout avoiding the Hook underpass.
Bridge route.Best option seems to be

10foot is a graffitti artist who goes round the country writing 10foot on bridges - it’s on the M1 and a load of other places.

Yep it looks like an ironic coincidence.Good luck to anyone taking a >13’3’’ high truck under the Ditton arch bridge. The same in this case at >15’9’'.Even more ironically I get told I can’t drive because I’d refuse the challenge and can see if a truck is higher at the back than the front.
