I use Vodafone topped up with 15 quid and i still have 12quid on it mind i only use it now and again when out if theres no free server (network about ) theres no run out time as in have to use it by the end of the month
In my opinion Vodafone is the best, gets connection everywhere and was only £15 on pay as you go, have used it for youtube, a bit of gaming and emails for the past month (got it on May the 14th) and its still not used the 2gb allowance it came with.
O2 is fine but I found the connection to be a bit weak at times.
It depends on what you want it for, I have O2 web bolt-on on my mobile phone, it’s perfect for surfing the forums and posting the occasional comments and that’s £7.50 a month for unlimited browsing.
I have a vodafone dongle. They wanted £25 for 5gb per month, once i haggled and said i already had a mobile with them they promptly dropped it to £12.50 per month for 5gb.
Haggle, its worth it

I hate haggling.
I have a PAYG o2 sim. As I am only doing bits and bobs for the agency at he minute, a contract isn’t something I can afford. It took my fancy as something that was relatively cheap as and when I need it.
I have been thinking of moving over to t-mobile actually, I just need to see what the cost are like.

I have just had a look at that one, but its browsing restricted to your mobile from what I could see. I mainly want something that gives me full web access, not necessarily the data allowance. (Although in this case, bigger IS better.)
Get a O2 dongle and buy a O2 iphone PAYG sim card off ebay, top-up with £10 and you get free internet for 12 months after the 12 months you have to top-up £10 every month to get free internet, the £10 can then be used for calls if you put the sim card in a phone.

Have these sims been tried with a dongle? I hope so, cos I’ve just ordered the items,
Mobile internet for £1.20 a month, can’t be bad Thanks for the info.
o2 mobile is ok. unlimited web for £7.50 per month. unlimited 02 → o2 calls and txts if you top up £15 per month. 02 broadband was my regretted choice for my laptop. i cant send emails from my laptop and i dont live in a 3G area so im on GPRS connection which is SSLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW! 3 dont do 3G in my area so im switching to tmobile. although more expensive, their mobile web has always been better quality than o2. it depends what you value more, money or quality. its either or with these 2

Yes have a search on google for “O2 dongle with O2 iphone sim card”
The internet is not £1.20 a month it is free the £10 just activates the internet, you can then use the £10 for calls or texts if you put the sim card into a phone.
You top-up £10 and you get 12 moths of free internet then after the 12 months you have to top-up £10 each month to get your free monthly internet.

Its more a case of any connectivity at all really. When I was out the other night, I had enough driving hours left to make it to my last drop and park there until the morning.
The problem was, I hadn’t been before and for all I know, there may be a scum ridden housing estate next to it and thats a no no as far as i am concerned. Being able to jump onto google maps and get an idea of the area is excellent when deciding.
I’m glad I stayed put really, cos waking up to this is better than some industrial estate.

Ok, I have the dongle and the SIM came this morning. I have read reports that o2 are sending SMS to people saying that the sim isn’t valid unless in an iPhone. Any ideas on this?
Technically speaking, it’s not free cos you need the £10 to start it off, , so based on that, it’s 12 months at £10 = £1.20 a month
Sorry, just being pedantic,

its not £10 for 12 months as you can spend that £10 on calls if you put the sim card in a phone. The £10 just activates the simcard and gives you the free 12 months internet.
I’m not going to know until i try it, but reading this i’m not sure if I want to risk a tenner.
Although, based on o2’s pricing, if I did top up with a tenner and got more than 2GB or 11.5 days usage, i’d have still had my moneys worth.
Estimated on £7.50 - 1GB - 7 Days and £15 - 3GB - 30 days
I have to say, using a bandwidth meter on my wireless connection and a few choice website tests, I don’t think I’d top the 500MB limit on the £2 payment. Even better if I could get wi-fi at an MSA which is unlimited for 24 hours
