Your level of experience as a HGV / LGV Driver

i have two + years but will always be learning which no one will ever stop doing. The cpc will have some benefits just the price off it all wouldn’t mined if they said the revenue from is going to be spent on better facillities for truckers at least it would feel like the money is being put back into our industry.

I ticked the 30+ box, and no I wont be doing a cpc. A lot of the younger drivers on here will be far better qualified than I am, they know their stuff because they’ve had training of various sorts. The only training I ever had was an HGV test, after that it was a case of 'here’s the keys, get on with it. ‘Practical on the job training’ is the answer, not sitting in a classroom. Basic training for a particular type of vehicle would be useful, it’s better than getting in a vehicle, in the dark, and having to find the layout in the time it takes to start the engine.

Tiger.

The Highway Man:
Not as comfortable as a bus as they have hard plastic seats, and there’s no donkey rides, kiss me quick hats and sticks of rock at the end of the journey :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I’m sure I’ve read in the Daily Mail, that the prison transports are fittied with leather arm chairs and allow the prisoners to jump the queue at the airport for thier foriegn holidays. :open_mouth:
15+ years experience, Started on Tilts and a bit of agricultural work, had a go at flatbeds, low loaders, cutainsiders, now doing Motorsport round Europe.

I applied for a job with Reliance 2years back at that time they wanted D licence holders as in psv.We might not think much of the inmates but they are not freight and should be classed as people The transport should be classed as a bus ,asecure bus but still a bus.
I heard no more about my application.
