Learnt in an Austin 1100, then had a break for a few weeks with 2 lessons booked before test and instructor now turned up with an NSU Prinz for these two. Elected to use my father’s Austin 1300 for test. Dad died a few months later and that became my 1st car.
Henry Stephens:
I bet Carryfast aka Geoffrey passed in a British Leyland Austin Allegro Vanden Plas luxury edition with the square steering wheel and fake leather seats.
Before my time so I had to Google the Allegro. Just to see the square steering wheel lol. Reminds me of a scania steering wheel nowadays.
commonrail:
Passed in a micra,first motor,was an ■■■■■■ van.
I brought this micra to use for work , most unrealisable car we’ve probably ever had , every week something went wrong , brought my girl 106 as first car & never went wrong , after it was wrote off , I bodged it and ran it as works car for years
I had a Pug 106 that went on and on for years, a diesel car but would go very fast.
Those little diesels were great cars. My Fiesta used to cruise at 100 coming home after nights haha.

It went ok , petrol , until it got hit , then it didn’t go very fast or handle with the amount of filler I used to bodge car
It was the car that was wrote off , took away by ins then we got a phone call saying come & collect the car , I’d insured it as me as main driver , daughter as named driver but she was owner on log book , think we lost £1600 on value of car , £5000 really as had to buy daughter replacement car , fiesta zetecs , went through financial ombudsman but if I remember right we got £40 for inconvenience, that’s why I bodged it & used it for 3 yrs
You can imagine how many big cans of filler , how much I had to grind off door / shut to get it too close , looked a right mess but as a works car served me well
passed in a allegro .first car was a opel manta 1.9 sr . owned/drove manta ,mini. imp, tansit and a t2 vw van before i got round to actually taking a test.

Dozy, you could have repaired that properly for the same cost as the bodge you did.
Sir Geoffrey Carrynotveryfast MBE OBE MRCVS BA Hons MA Hons in A frame trailer technology ,Imperial/Metric BBC Bridge Bashing Club height calculations has been very quiet lately.
I hear of the great white shark in Australia but maybe the shark has attacked Dozy’s car?
Or Doze went to Longleat safari park and the car got rammed by a rhino or a hungry hippo on heat, luckily the sides and didn’t get his back doors banged in to.
