Does anyone remember a company called ED Berry Haulage? they ran yellow Volvo F7’s I think out of their yard in Gomersal near Cleckheaton. this was during the 1980’s and I remember towards the end of the 80’s you’d see Viamaster trailers in their yard. Then they disappeared and houses have been built on the yard.

I remember the yard Lee i thought it was Viamasters yard didnt realise it wasnt

It was on Oxford Road, across from the bottom of West Lane, ED Berry had yellow/white Volvo’s, F7’s I think. Viamaster then all of a sudden had a load of trailers in the yard and then it all dissapeared

Some old ones from Thompsons Barnsley

JD Irelands from Malton area.I think their yard was alongside the A64.Do you know where SA Bells ran out of?

I think Bell’s main place was at Norton,Malton on the same industrial estate as the Malton Bacon Factory, owned by Unigate.

somebody must have pictures of yak trucks

did they have more than one?

sadly this was in the days before digi cams so not many bothered to take pics of trucks. I took a few but over the years they ave got lost or damaged etc.
I can’t find any of Panalpina trucks, even though they had a very smart livery, mind you they weren’t often stood long enough to catch.
Would have liked one of TKH477R, a big 'enery that I had for a few years or even GVH 224S when they tried out the chipperfield circus livery!

I used to mechanic for ken YAK stood for yevone and ken his wife he ran fords 2 artics trascontinentals one was JWY34V he went bust he died a while back blood clot i think

mantons magnum, this used to be almost permanently over the water.

I remember that Magnum Joer, but the driver’s name escapes me. It came into Maltby depot for loading a few times, usually for Safeway at Aylesford then away over the watter.
