Think they did indeed used to be White arrow,Kays,GUS.
Read a bit about them in the loal rag the other day, closing Swindon depot.

Has anyone else had any experience of receiving a delivery from Yodel. I found a card in my gate saying a Yodel van driver had tried to make a parcel delivery. Instructions on the back of the card to get in touch to arrange a new delivery date etc by telephone or by visiting their website. The phone system is an automated thing which gives an estimated delivery time. There is no way of speaking to anyone other than an Asian employee in an Asian country.I think this outfit belong to DHL.Still haven’t recieved my parcel three days later :imp: .
Come back BRS parcel deliveries.

Google your local depot (if you know it) and you’ll find the local direct number for them.

Yodel claim they made a delivery to me on Monday, the didn’t, no card or anything! It was only a £2 crappy book, but still, I aint happy!

I did that and ended up talking to an Asian gentleman who wasn’t in Nantgarew !!!

Did Amazon start using them and then stop very quickly as they lost a lot of orders, and they were on watch Dog?

As you can see from my sig I work for Yodel.

Yodel is the transport division of Littlewoods.

It is the biggest transport company in the UK. Much bigger than Stobarts but nobody realises because it runs under several brands.

Over 4000 trailers in lots of livery. Once a trailer is bought and painted they never adopt a new livery as they change the name of the company.

Littlewoods
Laithwaites
White Arrow Express
G&M (in Scotland)
Reality
Business Express
Yodel (in new pukey grreen colour)
Ex DHL yellow with Livery removed
Plain white
Plain dark blue

All pulled by plain white units. Predominently PN06 reg DAF and DA11 reg MAN. Though we do have a smattering of Renaults and ex DHL yellow Mercs,

2000 7.5 tonne rigids

over 3000 3.5 tonne vans.

Yodel deliver the own account parcels for the Littlewoods Shop Direct group catalogues (Littlewoods, John Moores, GUS, Janet Fraser etc.) and internet shopping (Littlewoods.com, isme.com, very.com etc)

Yodel also collect and deliver over 1 million parcels per week for third party suppliers such as Amazon, Tesco, Argos, Boohoo, Mothercare, QVC, etc.

I’m pretty sure that the unit that was at our place the other day was of DHL livery and the lovely looking Green and Red Trailer, Unless I was just half asleep that is!

Did you know, the driver has to use his hand held machine to log that your not in, then actually take a photo of your front door using the same contraption and fill out a card and put it through your door, takes about 10 minutes, and then the poor ###### still does not get paid because he could not deliver to you

not true, the hht does not have a camera in it

Andydisco:
not the best in the world of parcel delivery firms are they

last week the wife ordered a flat pack bookshelf and table set off tinternet and yodel were meant to deliver on monday, as im on nights i was in
at 4 pm the yodel van turns up with box 1 of 3 and no sign of the other 2 and no explanation of where the other 2 were.

, amazingly yodel turned up this afternoon with boxes 2 and 3 , just checked on the labels on the boxes and all 3 were printed at the same time

We have thi st work, but we had it wil APC. One half of the delivery would turn up with boxes 2, 3, 5 of 7. I’d ask where 1, 4, 6 and 7 are to be told we would probably get them tomorrow. It was something to do with there being 2 warehouses or something. No idea how they would get split up though, come from the same company, all sent at the same time.
We now get Yodel turn up delivering us the stuff. Which gets dumped on he gravel just outside the persons van. Polite enough chap, just wish he grabbed a trolley to put the stuff on instead of just dumping it on the floor to make I a bit easier for us.

The HHT(I take it you mean that little device that you sign?) doesn’t have a camera? Some do, I’m pretty sure the Tuffnells man who comes into work has taken a picture of sme boxes before that we’re bashed about on his device. Not a good camera but I’m near 100% sure that it does have one on.

Yes but delivered is different to have taken delivery of! Just because he has taken a picture of the goods outside someones house does not mean that they they have been received by the customer.

Got my delivery this morning ,looked like a subbbie with a van with no name etc.

Its not to prove delivery, he/she has to take a picture of your front door to prove he/she was there and that nobody was in. So no delivery could take place. if customer complains that they were there, they actually send them the photo, true as bob

Neither would a picture of my front door though. Doesn’t mean you knocked lol

They’ve got 2 sites there, at least they did have when they laid me off in May.

Strange set up,missed my original delivery on Tuesday, got it yesterday. They were here again today with a separate on time delivery ( Saturday ).I find it a strange way of running a parcel delivery firm. Can’t do timed deliveries on a weekday, but turn up OK on a Saturday  .
