Shouldn’t have a lovely pastime like gardening at this stage Carryfast? Why 15 years after retiring are you so obsessed and opinionated about this industry?! I can’t be arsed with most topics that crop up involving the transport industry now, and I’m still driving trucks everyday.
In that case maybe you should take your own advice and don’t bother with things that don’t concern you.
As for me even though I’m not driving trucks any longer I’m still intelligent enough to know that it is possible for anyone to end up a casualty even driving a car if they get hit by a truck that’s trying to avoid flattening one of the suicidal lemmings on a bike in whatever way.
I do have a question for you. Why do you always relate things back to the thatcher days and so forth
What the zb has the ‘Thatcher days days’ got to do with anything I’ve posted here.

Because it’s only a matter of time before you turn it into a discussion about Thatcherite “something”, unions, Hitler, American integrationalists, Nazis, Stalin, 1950s, double drives etc.

I suppose I could have said that Hitler would never have allowed cyclists to get away with the type of liberties and stunts that the zb’s are obviously trying to get away with here by making mugs of drivers so even he had his good points,if you really think it’s essential.

Exactly, what he ■■■■ has she got to do with anything you post?
Never answered my point about putting your point across in an adult manner where you could help others understand. Or is doing something worthwhile too much for you to take?
Well, guys it’s gone completely off subject and to some extent I’d wager that’s what Carryfast get’s off on.
I’ve just spent about half an hour looking at examples of HGV drivers, Bus drivers and car drivers, ALL driving like complete pillocks, many of them endangering other road uses - often cyclists.
But of all the videos I found, the one that amuses me the most is completely unrelated to cyclists, but it does prove that not every truck driver in the UK should be let loose behind the wheel.
A nasty little single axle trailer can make a mug of the best driver as many will tell you,we all have off days, the butcher & baker as banksmen where a dead loss, BTW have you driven one lately?prehaps you’d care to post a video
Yet again proving the fact that cyclists in general are as thick as zb and seem to want miles of seperation room left to the side of them by overtaking traffic but they’re happy enough to undertake traffic with often much less than a foot of clearance when it suits them.In addition to yet more examples of putting themselves in suicidal amounts of danger when there’s a big wide empty pavement there which could be used instead.
The bane of all hauliers, cyclists will be hit with on-the-spot fines if caught riding on footpaths or breaking red lights.
The Government is to introduce new regulations allowing gardai to impose fines of €50 against cyclists who break road safety laws, it has been learned.
The measure is contained in the Government’s road safety strategy and comes after independent TD Finian McGrath caused a furore in May after blasting cyclists for being arrogant and lacking respect for other road users, including motorists.

Only the Irish could come up with the idea of making life easier for truck drivers and safer for cyclists by getting cyclists off the pavements and onto the roads.Unless they’re really using a hidden policy of the final solution.

I’ve never had a problem with any kind of trailer, simples - take your time!
I’ve actually been out of the job for a while and have just done a few days yard shunting for a mate - preparing for going back in the road. He’s got the full range of skellies - from 20’ up.
If I couldn’t get that in there in one - I’d bin my licence. No videos.

I agree, went from a 40’ tri axle to a 20’ single axle once myself couldn’t stop the bloody thing turning made me look a right numpty. Great once you get the hang of them though.
Boomerang Dave:
The thing is - YOU DO NOT see the Dutch system being used everyday in Britain. That is my point.
But I see it every year in Paris
What you have done is what I predicted and produced bad comparisons.

Look then at this video. This bloke for sure would disobey the Dutch system as he even cant stay within the marked cycle path on the road not to mention that he completely ignored COMPULSORY road signs and as he said he could not be bothered to dismount for pedestrians safety. Surely he would find his way to disobey and the glorified by you Dutch system.
It is their attitude that has to change as well as the fact that they are nonpunishable for disobeying any traffic laws.
As for the video of a guy trapped in between bus - that was preventable if he obeyed to the traffic law.
My comment of your video is ; yes it is obvious that that poor guy was knocked off his bike but if there was a cycle path on pavement would he use it or ignore it as do millions of cyclist that I see everyday ■■? BTW it makes me wonder why cyclist are allowed to undertake

FFS mate - which part of Holland is Paris in? - last time I was there it was in FRANCE.
Are you lost per chance■■?
No I am not but which part of Holland is Britain in ■■?
I know where Paris is and it uses similar system. I show you Paris as an example of good idea of how to avoid collisions between cyclists and other road users as you showed me the Dutch system.
Your comment just proves that you have no arguments other than trying to sell us the name of the system in place.
Volvo uses I shift
Mercs Power shift
DAF A Tronic and so goes on and on but all of them are based on one thing - automated transmission.

They just turn quicker, so you go slower at it - chase it round a bit earlier. They also bounce like hell behind you when empty!
