I’m currently driving an DAF XF 70plt its a bit battered and beaten out side but does the job
2 trucks have come up spare due to 1 driver getting sized 11 and one leaving
MAN TGX is a 21 plt
The Claptros is a 72 plt but with the dreaded mirror cams but does have a cab cooler
Should I stick with the XF as she does the job , easy to drive and I’ve not got a full bingo card
Also interior is tidy
Or Twist and ask for the MAN
Claptros is not in the running for me as I wear glasses for driving
Change is as good as a rest!
Can you ask for a test ride?
I’ve driven one of the 73 pit TGX’s we’ve got for a day and they’re a lot better than the old XF I drive
I move in to the 21 pit TGX this weekend
Good choice I’d say. Even prefer the actros to an XF though the mirror cams would be a no go
The XF I’m currently in has more battle scars than Rambo
That’s good of you to admit you’ve been a bit careless…
Blockquote
Only some were mine most are historic before I had it
Well 3 weeks in to driving the MAN TGX ,
What a different beast to the DUF XF , it’s got get up and go in the hills and will still comfortably cruse at 56 mph on the flat fully loaded and if you put yer foot down it will go .
Bingo pen is redundant now as I only get an over speed warning now
I wear glasses and find the Actros mirror cams fine after a bit of getting used to.
Seems to depend on the level of difference between your long sight (mine’s fine) and your short sight (mine’s not that bad) and having to refocus on the offside screen.
Ah that makes sense. I’m short sighted, so the glasses correct it. I’ll admit they are not as good as conventional mirrors though, apart from at night where they are almost like night vision cameras if the conditions are right.
