I see WS Transportation have branched out into 2 man “white glove” home delivery. Saw one of their VW vans in the local dealers being pdi the other day.
Aiming at snapping up full service to the big furniture retailers?
Are they short of work so diversifying , I rarely see them these days , and when I do there pulling fridges , which seems strange as William said you couldn’t make fridge work pay
I do remember when he was running stobarts before culina took over starting some landscape/ gardening outfit , was it called stairs ? Then there was that speedy freight ( what happened to them
Lass I knew at r/ t/ stop rang me & said he was to do with it shutting , lass & most of the girls have / are being made redundant , so it seems he’s not a fan of t/ stops
Explore which he was something to do with don’t seem to be about as much as they were
To be honest all I ever see these days is culina , there everywhere , one after the other , don’t know what the blokes secret is who owns them but he certainly has expanded them
WS must be fairly busy, I keep seeing their trailers loaded with barriers on the back of subbie trucks. Must admit I dont see as much explore as I used to either. Keep seeing on faceache that WS have bought some haulier or another but they just seem to disappear. They bought WMB from gloucester, really classy fleet, not seen one since.
Youre right its Culina everywhere, but what did we expect when theyve bought pretty much all of the industry these days

They didn’t buy them outright, still the same owners running it, had 5x Scania S660 this year with all the normal upgrades. The bonus with WS involvement was they got new container skellys as the old one had its day. Also there company sorted out the racking in the new warehouse and the temporary structure outside to load bikes as they own WS Temporary Buildings Ltd.

I think you’re getting 2 businesses mixed up, a bloke called Carl Stairs was the person behind Logistics People, the agency. He sold out a couple of years back (to Stobart) and I think runs a property maintenance business now.

Who’s that landscape business that parks all there vans at stobart / culina depots , or they did 3 yrs ago , I was told stobarts had started it , though maybe I’m wrong
I’d take a photo but don’t go anywhere near there depots anymore , they were always cutting hedges / grass at depots
They also would just walk up and get free food at Appleton depot which made me believe they were employees of stobart as only stobart employees got free food as far as I was aware ?
Lp is a strange one as I was told by mate stobart wanted them gone as they were to expensive , my mate said there was talk of transferring them over to stobart , and my mate who is lp said he had a phone call saying he’d have to start wearing stobart / culina uniform
I’ll have to return then I’ll have 1 st hand info not 2nd ha ha
