Wrong to use toilet

I had a job delivering portable toilets to an event in scotland, the job required overnight parking and i was on a police route because of the wide load i was was transporting. There was no note of overnight parking on the police route. However i new of a lorry park just of the route and close to the delivery point. But once i arrived i found the premises closed for refurb under new managment so i found somewhere else to park which i found nearby. So anyway next morning whilst checking lorry and load i realised i needed the toilet which soon became desperate. P.s i needed a number 2. I was going to use nearby bushes but there were to many people around so that was out of the question. I then remembered about the toilet blocks i had on board, problem solved i thought so off i went. So at the delivery address i explained to the employee from the cabin company about my problem and what i had done. ( I was honest and up front.) So that was that i thought.A few days later i was asked in for a disciplinary hearing which resulted in me being given verbal warning which says. " I am writing to confirm that, following the hearing on the 9th july 2013 you were given a formal verbal warning under the company’s disciplinary procedure. The reason for the warning was that your conduct has been unsatisfactory for the following reason;Unauthorised use of customer’s equipment and facilities. We disscused the required improvements to your conduct and confirm that the following improvements are expected of you:appreciation that the customer is vital to the continued well-being of our buisness and your employment with it. Details of this warning shall be recorded on your personal file but will be disregarded for disciplinary purposes after 9th january 2014,provided there is no further misconduct within that time." i would like to know if there is anything in the health and safety at work act i can use. at the end of the day i had no where to go.

For what it’s worth I think your company have been more than fair with you.

I once did about 3 weeks delivering new industrial type rubbish bins, but I never once thought it would be OK to fill them with my rubbish before delivering them.

Other people may see things differently but that’s my opinion.

Agreed, but…

What would you have done if you were carrying a different cargo? ( = other than toilet blocks.)

What would you have done if you weren’t transporting toilets?
I understand if needs must but maybe you should have kept quiet to the customer.
Sounds like a standard letter from your boss which is fair enough.

I would be severely ■■■■■■ off if I’d ordered a toilet block and it turned up used. Suggest you find some bags without holes in for next time you get caught short. ■■■■■■■■ in a layby/bushes is just as disgusting btw.

I agree with this ^.

Taking a dump in bushes ffs, what is the World coming too when that’s your only option :unamused:

I get that you tried to park somewhere with facilities, but couldn’t, but you had a trailer full of [zb]houses, so you did the right thing, until the part where you got verbal diarrhea and dropped yourself in the [zb]

there’s two sides to this one, i might have thought the same in these circumstances if it were just a well used toilet block going to some event in a field, if it were a brand new just built loo block going to a loo hire company then again different situation, if you hadn’t got loos on board and were desperate its a case of either p*** or [zb] your pants or risk the bushes, but then the risk would be police doing you for going in a public place, it just goes to show honesty isnt always the best policy, if you’d kept stum and just said some desperate member of public must have done it whilst you were parked up or the bog otter must have been hiding from the loos last outing you’d probably have got away with it, never mind you’ve still got your job and it’ll be one of them situations that gets brought up in conversation in years to come by fellow workmates for a laugh about the good old days but at least not about the time you ■■■■ your pants eh

Next time crap in a bag and take it back to your boss and ask what you should do with it
