Thanks, he could always give them a bell.
I work from an outbase & we’re based at wrings transport yard. After speaking to one of their drivers i was told the money was only £7.50ph basic. Don’t know about overtime etc etc. Not sure how true this is. Ring & ask or look on website
wrings.co.uk/
I’ve been for a few jobs with Wrings over the years and Stuart Wring offered me the job both times. Thing is, the vehicles look well looked after and legal, the trailers too. The work looked good and varied but the money was the only sticking point.
They seem to be a very busy local firm who seem to treat their drivers well.
Ring them. If you don’t ask, you won’t get. Stuart is a nice fella.

I was told it was £7.25 odd by one of their Magnum drivers.
And you get to drive a lorry with a big “W” on the front . . .

Well I’m currently driving a truck with 1 HGV as the number plate but it doesn’t pay the bills any easier!

There was a bloke in here who got the sack one saturday morning a few years ago…
I think its the same company…
well ive work for them for 2 yrs and thats the first i’ve heard of it. but if a driver walked in stinking of booze he deserves to be done.

What he said.
My company uses wrings so have met many drivers over the years. They have a good loyalty and the wagons are always in good condition, you will have to work long hours and nights away, be expected to load your wagon with what ever comes. one driver did expect the warehouse staff to load it for him while he operated the tail lift and never actually got in the back to tie his load safely down. ( he just called instructions from under the curtains!!, he also rode the clutch (slipped) up a shallow incline, stunk the place out.
Most wagon are automatics and most drivers helpful.

So why give him the keys to the works van then knowing he was over the limit? Then call the old bill?
Go ask that skinny runt in the office about it I’m sure he will tell you all the sordid details.
not sure which skinny runt you mean but i asked the question about this and was told the driver asked to borrow the van to drive to the local plod shop because he had a producer now call me silly but you walk into a police station stinking of booze and you have the van outside. as i said before got every thing he deserved
The skinny runt of the litter I mean is Stuart, what he told you is complete bollox, read the original thread ■■■■■■,another driver took him down to the cop shop where he found out Stuart signed a statement saying he drove the van and ■■■■ on him big time, regardless of the drink drive charge it’s a ■■■■■■ thing to do in my eyes, and I know the the guy in question paid for it big time and has learned a valuable lesson but that skinny runt has in my eyes got whats coming to him as they say revenge is a dish best served cold…

Sorry but if you’re that far over the limit that you not only get suspicions, but also then fail a breath test the next day AFTER doing your job. Then I think he was stupid to go into work.
IF I felt the need to get that bladdered (must’ve been a special occasion), I’d have had the next day off.
