Would I be within my rights to refuse

Morning All
Had my ussual 7.5 t out last night and the handbrake was taking 9 clicks to hold on the slight rise from our weighbridge, When I returned to the depot I handed in my defect sheet and suggested to our transport supervisor he might like to take the vehicle off the road, he replied that it only needed a slight adjustment and was perfectly serviceable so no need, I was always told when presenting a car for an MOT more than 5 clicks was a fail. would I be within my rights to refuse to take this vehicle out tonight if defect is not rectified

If it will hold on a steep slope when fully laden then it is safe but you were right to defect it so it could be made safer

I’ve never seen or drove anything 7.5T that had a handbrake that ‘clicked’, i thought they where all air operated?
In anyevent, the number of clicks is irrelevant, it either works or it doesn’t thats the criteria now.

them japanese things have ratchet hand brakes i think
