Worse the Pilot!

At least you can get round to the scale now and not have to sit in line behind 25 trucks waiting for the fuel pumps! lol.
Never been a fan of pilots anyway, poxy parking areas, crap food and generally just seedy places to be. Another pilot I strongly dislike is the one at Rotterdam, NY near Schenectady. All that waste land around it and they build the parking area as small as they did, typical pilot.

I try hard to avoid the Rotterdam pilot more than most, once in the line you can’t get out, mind you ! I did meet a fellow brit at the pump alongside mine last visit.

They now no longer let us park overnight in the rail freight terminal there, and politely point out to us at 10pm that there is a nice big pilot truckstop just down the road…you cant get parked in that hell hole during the day, let alone at 10pm!

Could any company make truck stops worse than Pilot ? … An overwhelming YES is the answer and whats even worse is that they buy out bad Pilots and make them even worse. I talk about Love’s of course. Pilots are very automated and efficient but terrible truck stops, Love’s take them over and get rid of the efficient and automated things to destroy the very few good things Pilot have
Love’s took over the Pilot in Bordentown NJ about a year ago, took out all the electronic shower codes and took a step back by using a yale type key attatched to a [zb] huge piece of wood that you could check the hardness of your tyres with  Two weeks back I called in to get fuel, transflow some docs and take a shower. At the desk I said “Can you scan these for me please ?”
“The Transflow doesn’t work” said the girl.
“Ok, can I have a shower then please ?”
“We have no hot water”
“Did you know this is the worst [zb] truck stop in the country ?” I asked and she just laughed as I walked out in disgust, went across the road to the Petro and paid for a proper shower.
Last monday I arrived in Binghamton NY at another Love’s to take a 10 hour break and handed my card at the desk asking “can you tell me what is on this card please ?” the girl swiped it and replied
“$7.57, a shower and a free coffee”
“Thank you and I will take my shower now” I said. I took the shower and free coffee but no milk was available.

For some reason I had to continue in a different window ■■
“No milk ?” I asked the manager.
“Our company only supplies Cream and French vanilla for coffee” he said.
“What if I don’t like those ?” I asked.
“Sorry but thats all we have, you can buy a bottle of milk if you want”
I then proceeded to the crappy Wendy’s section to get a poor excuse for food. "Spicey chicken fillet meal please " I am then givena tray with chips, a Coke and a sandwich wrapped in foil that said ‘Baconeater’ “I asked for chicken” I said.
“That is chicken, we only have those wrappers” she said, I handed her the Love’s card “We don’t take those” she said.
“Then what [zb] use is the [zb] card if i can’t use it at a [zb] Love’s truck stop” I said, I then waked into the main section and found the manager and asked what I could use it on ? and was told anything in the shop, I then got a bottle of orange, a bottle of chocolate milk, a bag of crisps and 2 choclate bars, it came to $7.65, I paid the extra pver the value of the card cut it in two and trew it at him.

If it needs stars to get it past the auto censor, that’s your clue that you’re trying to use a banned word.
The stars DO NOT make the word become acceptable!!
Please just type it, then leave it if the auto censor catches it. dd.

Pat, me old mucker, you won’t get on the ‘Preffered customer list’ this way :exclamation: :exclamation:

Have you been in the Stuart airport diner at Newburgh NY, i think it’s the exit befor the TA truckstop going west on 84. Used to have room for a few trucks around back.

I have indeed Charles, it’s right opposite the Pilot, I usually park in the pilot and walk across the road for real food at a cheeper cost.

Dave … I have to say the the censorship of the letter ‘F’ floowed by two stars then the letter ‘K’ is riddiculous, because forming the word like that is censorship in itself. we are grown men and all knw what it means, it’s a part of life, to censor an already censored word seem a bit silly and over the top.
I seem to remember a few years ago having the name Terry Wo gan censored because the word ‘W O G’ is in the middle

The Pilots and Loves do my head in, I get really aggravated by the lazy fat [zb]s that leave their truck on the fuel island while they gorge their morbidly obese faces on junk food :imp: :imp:

Nearly every driver you see in them look likes a tramp too, a lot of our shiny tracksuit wearing brethren from the Eastern Hemisphere tend to frequent them so you have to be very careful that you don’t have a static explosion as they walk past the fuel pumps

Too right Mark… what gets me is the turds that park at the pump, walk in and eat spending half an hour before they walk out and fuel up then at another stop complain about others who hog the pumps.
Monday night I ended up in Binghamton again but this time headed straight for the TA and passed the Love’s. Now the Binghamton TA has always been a bit of a snotty dive but it has been re-furbished inside, very clean and well run, still working on the parking area though.

Ref the Milk, What I do is go to the fridge (as you would at home) get a packet out, stick in the straw and add milk to my Tea, (having brought in my own tetly tea bag) becouse Liptons is pee water. and procced to counter. then ask what do they charge for a cup of hot water? mostly i am waved off, some times i get charged as a coffee, but not often.
I would do the same with the sandwich, but i dont think i could keep a straight face at the counter as i would be holding back a torrent of P**** . So act like you own the place, nobody gives a ■■■■ so help yourself to a handfull of sugar while your at it, hahah
Cheers Jj

Most family run stops and even service area’s on the Mass Pike usually wave me away when I just get a coffee but the big chains don’t care a toss.

BTW I’m in a Pilot now in wisconsin, just watched (well saw, I wasn’t watching  ) a 300+lb driver get out in his boxers and ■■■■ up his wheel, not a pretty sight
