Only 5 drivers out of 45 class one and class two drivers managed to pass today’s assessment under the watchful eye of four judges. Three of the assessors were Australian, Congolese and Canadian. Its amazing how poxy little habits can cost you an opportunity or the chance of a lifetime. The sheer thought of winning the quarter of a million first prize was enough for one driver to fall on his knees before climbing into the cab of a 6x2 2012 Black Amber which was coupled to 40ft triaxle curtainsider. Priceless day! My assessment is on 5/07/14. What I’m looking forward to the most is the assessment carried out driving an 6x2 ERF EC11 unit which has been branded the decider. Well excited!!

Sounds like a really good challenge and i wish you well. I saw the ice road truckers having a go on something similar in Bolivia, and thats a challenge in itself, and so are the vehicles, but the mountainous road were the biggest problems, and so was the mud roads, and seeing as the tour kicks off in January 2015, i think i`ll give it a miss.

@truckboy - thanks mate. I am more apprehensive about the twin splitter gear box in the EC11 than the Bolivian roads . I understand that it’s very unforgiving once you get it wrong. Looking forward to the experience though.
