World record??

Hi troops.

Loaded Knowsley Liverpool Fri and left at exactly 1pm. Got onto M57 no probs. M62 no probs. M6 no probs until Stoke turn off. Bit slow I thought but got through it. Thought to myself all is good so far Smudge, you will be home in time for legover. WRONG!. Got through Brum then probs started. From Corley services to the M1 nearly 2 hours! Thought it must be an accident but NOTHING! Oh well, off we go again. Going well until Northampton. Another queue. NOTHING! Again got through. Time is now getting on but thought of legover is keeping me in check!! Got to Luton and its all stop again and its piled up as far as the eye can see. Again Nothing!! Off we jolly well go again and I can smell the wonderful M25. OH DEAR!! Yep, traffic queuing for miles!

By this time all thoughts of being in bed with nice crisp sheets and a nice crisp girlfriend are shot to hell. Got onto M25 and we are really rockin" so all is good until Heathrow and there are roadworks. Something to do with putting in a new spur road on the M25 or something like that. Another hour and a half and im through!!. Finally got back to my yard at 10-30 Fri eve. I showed my card, all legal, to my Guvnor and he nearly passed out!!!

From Liverpool to Hastings…9Hrs 30 mins!!

Is this a world record? :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Err, no  .

That’s what’s called ‘normal’ mate :astonished: .

The only way to get anywhere fast in this country nowadays is to travel at 3am in the morning I’m afraid. :unamused:

It just reminds me why I prefer to do EU work

This is one of those things that reminds me why I live and work here. :exclamation:

How many miles is it from Liverpool to Hastings

According to Maporama, its 280 miles Pat. Going by the Dartford bridge that is, which is the shortest route they say.

If that took me more than 4 hours over here I would give up :exclamation: … about 3hrs 45 mins would be the norm

I have often done Philladelphia PA to Glens Falls NY (310 miles) in 4 hrs.

Yes Pat, but it’s one thing to do that in the USA when your wagon isn’t limited to 56, and you can comfortably sit at 10mph over the interstate limit and not get nailed.
Ahh… the memories of crossing ND at night at about 80-85 mph with a big rig weighing in at 79,000lb…

When did you cross ND at night in a big rig at 79,000lbs  you were only there for a couple of months and drove a rigid doing harvest work :exclamation:
You told us you never got the ‘CDL A’

Or are you spining yarns  you crafty little monkey
