Please help. I took a job where the manager of the company told me i would compleat two jobs or 12 hours in the day and for this i was to be salary paid. This was fine for a year but they are now wanting more. My contract says as and when required by customer, with no sign of the set amount of hours, so i am wanting to know what is the maximum they can make me work in a day. I do not reach my driving hours so its just a matter of working time. Also if my contract says day work can he make me work past 11p.m.
You can work 3 x 15 hr days between weekly rests so assuming you work Mon to Fri and then the other 2 days can be upto 13 hrs long I’m afraid.
But if he’s pushing you too much then you’re going to have to stand up for yourself and say no. As for what’s a day shift then I would say anything upto 18.00 hrs but you would have to read your contract.

If there is no detail in your contract then sadly they can probably make you do as much as is legal and your only option might be to find another job if you don’t like it.
