Hi All,
i am new to this and could really do with some help on daily rest / hours please.
My new employer has me doing the following:
Other work for 3o mins (slow walk around and hook up to trailer)
driving for 30 mins to ferry port
On rest mode for 5-30 mins, then Ferry mode and drive onto ferry - back onto rest mode for 3.5 - 4 hours while on ferry.
Normal driving for 2 hours 20 mins
Rest mode for 45 mins - 1 hour
Normal driving for 2 hours 20 mins back to the port
On rest mode (start of daily rest period) for 1-2 hours , then Ferry mode and drive onto ferry - back onto rest mode for 3.5 - 4 hours while on ferry - on arrival into port, hit ferry mode again and drive to yard on ferry mode (total ferry mode driving is under 1 hour for both on and off ferry and not include in rest period) - then complete daily rest period of 11 hours or more (in total) before starting again in the evening.
My questions are these:
1 - is this legal for driving and WTD hours - i believe this is ok , but do not want to get fined if stopped when on the road
2 - is this legal to do 5 days a week? i have heard different stories from many drivers and they ended up arguing between themselves and could not agree
