Imagine you work relatively short hours, never get anywhere near exceeding daily/weekly working/driving time etc.
Are you able to work 6 shifts then have a weekly rest period of 45 hours then start the same
pattern again and again ?
It says ERF not RAF:

How long are the shifts ?
Does every shift start at the same time ?
I ask as you could be doing perhaps 8 shifts between weekly rests if each shift was say 8 hours and the next started after the minimum daily rest possible

Yes, if you can have a 45 hour weekly rest period every week you can work as many shifts as you can fit between the weekly rest periods.
edit: I’m sure I don’t need to say this but I will anyway, the weekly rest periods must not be more than 144 hours apart
Thanks, I now know what I needed.
If you had the same start time each day then did 6 on 2 off a number of times you would get to a point where one extra day off would be needed
