Working 6 days in a row - base calculation on 15hr day?

Assume I start on Sunday at 22:00. A 15 hour shift (max possible) would terminate at 13:00 on Monday.

Therefore I can finish at 13:00 on the following Saturday? So the following should be legal, even though the final shift starts super early on “day 7”.

Sun 22:00-06:00
Mon 22:00-06:00
Tue 22:00-06:00
Wed 22:00-06:00
Thur 22:00-06:00
Fri OFF
Start Sat 00:05, finish 12noon

TIA

“There must be no more than six consecutive 24 hour periods between weekly rests”.

So it’s more forgiving than I thought. I can start Sunday 22:00 and in theory work up to 21:59 the following Saturday. The exact start times & spacing between the 6 shifts doesn’t matter if each is separated by 10 hours.

Is all that correct? TIA.

In theory you can actually work up until 2159 on the following Sunday. Forget this six shift bull, you must start a weekly rest before you’ve worked 144 hours since your last weekly rest. There’s no such thing as a maximum of six shifts.

Correct

I can start Sunday 22:00 and in theory work up to 21:59 the following Saturday.

Also Correct, well in theory you could work until 22:00 the following Saturday, but remember that reduced weekly rest periods must be compensated for by the end of the third week following the reduced weekly rest period.

The exact start times & spacing between the 6 shifts doesn’t matter if each is separated by 10 hours.

You need a daily rest period of at-least 11 hours between shifts, this can be reduced to 9 hours three time between weekly rest periods.

The daily rest period must be completed within the period of 24 hours from the start of the shift.

Sorry, misread 24 hour periods as six shifts. It’s late :joy:

That would be seven 24 hour periods (167 hours 59 minutes to be precise)

I agree about the 144 hours between weekly rest periods though:

  • Six 24 hour periods = 144 hours.

You are obviously correct. If it wasn’t late and I hadn’t consumed Madri I’d have said that he needs to start another weekly rest period before 2200 on Saturday night.:+1:
