I’m starting to get a bit annoyed with the crappy work gloves companies give you, you know the ones that fall apart after one day, or those one size fits all (if you all have the hands of a giant)
so i’m looking to get some of my own, but i want to buy some that will last, i used to have some dewalt leather ones, but i can’t seem to find them on ebay any more.
Anyone got any recommendations for GOOD work gloves and if possible a link for where to buy them.,
The Dewalt Tiger gloves are the best, try your local safety supplies companes.
I have given up with everything else, they just get shredded in no time. A pair of the Dewalt gloves usually last at least a month and that’s handling all sorts of sharp and awkward stuff.
what employers supply gloves ? not where i work we get everything else though can’t understand why they can’t go the extra mile for a few pairs of gloves
Aldi, Lidl, Poundland, Wilkinson, all the cheapo shops sell rigger glovers or garden gloves which are very similar for about £1-2 a pair.
I have 2 sets of gloves, one cheapo pair for general wearing and opening backdoors and use the rigger gloves for vehicle checks and trailer changes. Only problem I find is they eventually get diesel in them, especially if you get them wet if it’s raining, it leeches through.
Working for a builders merchants we’ve got a shelf full of gloves in the shop…just take a new pair when you need them and give the label to someone in the office to knock it off the stock.
Fastrantiger:
I find gloves from £1 shops last just as long as one’s costing more, but I’m just a cheapskate
You pay that much.
I usually find that you can get a pack of ten or twelve pairs from building trade suppliers for about 8 or 9 quid. A pack tends to last me about three to six months.
The best one I found, some years ago, was Buck & Hickman. Three dozen pair for just over £16.
