It can be quite hard up on the winter roads, especially at $17ph, but it’s not all work and no play, you can use some of the ‘essential’ equipment you carry in your truck to wind down and relax at the end of a long day
If you get plenty of practice the end result can look like this
For those of you who would like to get onto this job it may be a little late for this season, but here’s a little something to be getting along with until you can do it for real, you’ll need a lot of matches for sure, but it’ll give you some idea of how much work it entails to be a true ‘winter road professional’ and do it with real logs
Obviously you needn’t be so elaborate, but well, if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly
I not really good at that ice sculpture lark but i’m not bad at digging so can i possibly just do some tunnelling?
i’ll leave all that tricky stuff like bridge making with logs or matchsticks to the true professionals.
Surely only true seasoned winter road professionals will ever achieve something like this
I hear that you sometimes need to tunnel through buckled ice, perhaps you could one day class yourself as professional
I did 5 months there and it snowed once, so could I qualify?

That woud qualify you as one of the more experienced ice road truckers
If your taking your time on the coast you can practse with sand castles.

I’m pretty good at tunnelling my self … Blackwall tunnel, Rotherhithe tunnel, Tyne tunnel and now even the Lincon tunnel.
I don’t know about the 3 Musketeers, i was thinking more along the line of the 3 Stooges fits you better.
No offence intended and its not a personal attack.
That is a sand Igana I thought he did really nice job on it. They were all really nice. there are more but I didnt post them.
Kind of hard to edit right now oh wait I cant edit thats right.
Just wish the girly footballers had the same ability as the real men, I’m more a footy fan than rugby, but good to see the result today and who better to beat than the cheese eating garlic breathed surrender monkeys
NMM if you dont have avalible ice, there is this very large green and white chunk of wood on the right side of the road coming off TC1 headed south to Steinbach you could make it look real nice instead of the present eyesore.
