Windscreen wash fluid

Just wondering what washer fluid people use. I drive a tgx xxl and my windscreen just attracts bugs and the normal washer fluid doesn’t cut the mustard.

Thanks

Car plan is good .

I just use any stuff our workshop parts department have but I put some neat in a trigger squeezy bottle and if the cast of bugs life gets too bad on the screen I just get out and spray the screen and a quick wipe, works wonders

what difference does it make what unit u drive has it got a windscreen oops it will get bugs on durrr

Yes but the XXL is the one with the massive screen that’s almost like a coach so there will be more bugs than a normal screen.

massive eh mmm

ah if its that big then you may need to use a jcb bucket just a thought

Wipers/washers can’t cope with bugs, especially once they get baked on.

Keep a spray bottle full of water with a spoonful max of washing up liquid in it, and a hand brush, preferably one with a short extension**, when the screen gets bad or it looks like rain, quick spray and agitate the bugs off with the brush, its the only way…could always use a squeegee to clear the unswept section leaving the front down mirror blind, another bad design.

**extension needed because MAN overlooked the fitting of suitable grab handles or foot rest to enable washing of the screen…they probably assumed their usual drivers wouldn’t be capable of cleaning the screen by hand and would expect the washers/wipers to do everything… :smiling_imp:

For bird ■■■ etc use a wet sheet of kitchen towel soaked in water and carefully placed over the offending faeces. Wait a while, the water soaks in and Bob’s your mother’s brother

Prolly works with bugs too, haven’t tried it though.

quickest way to clean the screen on one is to tilt the cab. It’s electric so no effort required and you can clean the blind spot mirror at the same time.

Use to do the same thing on a ride night with the m/bike club.

Clean the screen with a brillo pad(other scourers are availiable)and toothpaste.
Jobs a good un.

I use auto glym bug spray, minute to soak in and wash off with wipers and screen wash no fuss :sunglasses:

Brilliant stuff, safe on paintwork too.

I use the truck wash, brilliant clears the lot!!

Can’t you just dodge the bugs?

Stardrops solution in a spray bottle.

Autosmart G101 diluted works a treat on squished bugs.

I’ve never found any of these so called screen wash additives any good, yet a shower of rain and the wipers will clear the bugs straight away, perhaps filling the washer bottle with rain water will do the trick. :bulb:
