Wincanton often advertising for drivers for their client M & S to work with a drivers mate, delivering and assembling furniture in customers homes.
Anyone done this kind of work before? It does say it’s a four day week but 12 hour days.

Think they do home delivery for furniture so presumably also moving stock between warehouses. They won that contract back in 2009. DHL do the clothing for M&S and Gist do the Food, and are trying to gain all the Ocado stuff which will happen as M&S owns Gist now and have a believe a 50% share of Ocado and rumours are they are looking to buy Ocado out anyway.
It will be a pain in the arse job Delevingne and assembling furniture in customer homesz as will mean taking stuff upstairs etc and flats with stairs etc.
A bit of a marmite job and that’s if you get along with the drivers mate you have of course. I’ve done retail with a drivers mate and it can be horrendous depending on how useful your drivers mate is and how decent they are at working.

Dealing with customers like bus driving only you have to go into the [zb] house. Also not good if your a non smoker.
Can you imagine doing home deliveries to your average head up hole M&S customer where nothing will ever be right? Think I’d rather do Argos.
Yes probably best. One thing delivering goods, it’s another having to deliver and assemble them too.!
If you are out of work it’s a beggars and chooses scenario,.and worth a punt.
Not sure if I’d leave a ‘standard’ type driving job for it though, unless it was summet I’d always wanted to do… but you ain’t me.
I did home deliveries on Silentnight beds for a couple of weeks a lot of years ago, my Dad came with me as a drivers mate,.I was an owner driver…tbh it wasn’t too bad.
