Redrum:
If anybodies still interested in this Saga I’m currently sat on 2 hours 27 minutes driving time parked up at Clacket lane services.
With the 3 hours 43 minutes driving time before the first break, and the 2 hours 27 I’m sat on now I make that 6 hours 10 minutes driving leaving me with 3 hours and 50 minutes driving time to get back.
The satnavs predicting a 3 hour 20 minute journey so it’s looking promising
I’m waiting for you at Rugby truckstop, don’t worry I have enough wet wipes for both of us. Bit low on mayo if you could pick some up that would be great.
My cousin ‘Rearend Roger’ will be joining us about 8pm.
Will let you know about my mate ‘Felching Fred’ as he’s stuck in Brighton, literally.
Edit: Just had a call from Fred, he is meeting up with his besty ‘Poopipe Peter’ so can’t make it.

Ok, so the moment you’ve all been waiting for I can reveal that I did in fact NOT make it.
I took the m40 back up, a little bit of traffic around the m25 so I got off just before it and got onto the m4 and managed to miss it. All was looking promising then I had the choice of taking the m42 and the m6 or the m5. The m5 had contraflow and a lane closed at the time (I think) and at the time I committed to the m42 and m6 it wasnt as bad. But that changed pretty quickly. M42 was horrendous and there had been a crash on the M6. I got down to about 15 minutes of driving time at this point and took the next turn off for Wednesbury thinking I might be able to find a place to park at the lidl there. I couldn’t but I’m now parked up on a quiet ish road by some woods and a rugby ground and ended the day on 9 hours 59 minutes drive time.
The reason I tryed to get as far as possible was because the gaffer said he could send somebody to meet me, but it’d take somebody over an hour to get here from telford and the same for me to get back so I told him not to bother. I’ll take the night out money instead.
And that concludes my day
Ps. I have a good stash of my own wet wipes dipper

I’m not too far either so is the ■■■■ in Redrums truck on? Keep in mind I way over 40 stone so it might get a little snug.
peirre:
So he waited till only having 15mins left before pulling off and parking up
9hr59 drive.
If that was me I`d claim brilliant time management by a genius driver.
The truth would be nearer a well rubbed crystal ball, and a set of bitten finger nails.

You mean to tell me all 3 of you lived near me and you couldn’t even send your bloody missuses out with a few cups of tea to keep a fellow driver going… Poor showing here lads As for the ■■■■ getting a little too snug in the cab we could’ve always moved it into the trailer, leaving the back doors open of course for any onlookers. Although I suspect the trailer doors wouldn’t be the only backdoors being opened on a night like that

I’m definitely claiming brilliant time management. Truth is if I’d have gone a few minutes over I’d have winged it with a printout (I hope)
I did take a printout and ended up doing 748km in the 9hours 59minutes
