Overtake each other which causes tailbacks for japanese sports cars
Pull out in front of supra’s
Shame I can’t post there anymore, sometihng to do with not having sufficient rights anymore
I can see both sides of the story, there’s some extremely unprofessional drivers in trucks out there, not many days go by without coming across one – SHAME because most (IMO) ARE good, considerate drivers, but it only takes the odd lemon to tar the rest.
Probably a waste of time even trying to educate them on supranet, I think their minds are made up
Doesn’t it just go to show how little the general driving community understand about the job !
These guys aren’t dense chavs, most of them are mid 20’s with very good jobs & earning a lot more than I do (certainly most have better supras !). But still they fail to see it from “in cab” perspective, not through any fault of their own, just because they havn’t got the experiences to understand the viewpoint of a HGV driver.
If this is how sensible, intelligent people view the profession, god help everyone here when the Chavalier owners start a rant
The racing sorta dropped off a bit & we decided it was too much expense & time to commit to it more, so she went to a new home hauling fruit off the docks down near Bristol.
Still miss it, but I do have a lot more time to play with other s
Well - effectively he’s right - an older wagon can do 60 on the motorway, but all the new stuff will only do 56.
Well, the new ones will go 60 too, if you hit a nice downhill slope
I’m very impressed that the guys on that forum were so open minded and listened to our pov. A lot of ‘car’ forums are just full of nutbags who just want to whinge.
Though, perhaps it would’ve been good to mention that there is a campaign of sorts to increase the 40mph speed limit - I think they would’ve appreciated knowing that too.

Gotta agree that they are a bit more receptive to the truck drivers side of the story than most might be. I would love to see the response on a BMW M5 forum
As for putting them in a ditch Jammy, don’t do that - I might need a new one in a couple of years

If I could still post there, I would be only too pleased to. Most of them are decent blokes, spoken to quite a lot of them & like the rest of us they work hard. A lot of them seemed unaware of the 40mph limit, just goes to show that people can be educated if it’s done the right way.
Carl: You are a genius, that WOULD solve a lot of the problems of misundertanding
Maybe they should rcruit a very small, poverty stricken signmaker to do the whole country, then I might be able to afford a pint of petrol for my supra, so I can then get stuck behind you rolling road blocks
Seriously, somebody on there was ■■■■■■■■ about being his by an artic on a roundabout, my FAVOURITE pastimes when driving the car (especially when a BMW is behind me) are …
1: Travel fairly briskly in the outside lane overtaking, until a truck flicks his indicator, gently slow down & let him out – this infuriates the muppets that cut trucks up.
Cover the arse of trucks entering tigh roundabouts & not overtake them until they are on the exit lanes & have got their line. Again, a great practice (IMHO) to help the trucks & it then gives me a nice clean shot of road to leave Mr. BMW in the dust & embarrassed by superior japanese technology
Not sure if I enjoy helping the truck more than agitating a bird brain in a repmobile, but whichever way it benefits everyone
Carl:
all it takes is for councils to put up signs stating the speed limit for trucks like they have on some roads in scotland and throughout europe.
That’ll never happen because the blame will then swing from the dirty great lumbering trucks clogging up the roads to the stupid great lumbering politician that makes up these barmy rules like a single carriage way road with 3 yes 3 diferent speed limits on it
