Heard about this on the radio yesturday. Quite surprising, renowned heavy haulage company. No doubt an experienced driver, with escorts etc.
Looks like maybe the rear wheels have dropped in the mud and it’s turned the whole lot over.
The bill is going to be almost as big as the load
Looks expensive. . . .Bet more than one head will be rolling. .

According to some of the journo reports this was a “horror crash”. Still such bollox sold one extra paper so there will be a Brucie bonus coming someone’s way.
I was in there yard at Halifax a few months ago , some of the kit looked well passed its sale by date , as did a few of the staff

Being a bit off the mark there dozy if the driver look a bit past it they’ve probably forgotten more than you’ll ever learn.
By the looks of it the rear vogue has come off the road. Nothing has fallen of the trailer so again you very wide of the mark
And not a Dot com van in sight
Dozy, does your mum know your playing truant again?

drivers fault you can see in first picture where end of trailer cut into verge.

True, possibly to avoid overhanging trees.
FTW ?
That is not a regular trailer, I doubt it handles as such.

Well spotted Radar, just had a closer look at the pictures and I think your right, non standard trailer. I dare bet you’re right about the handling too !!
Regards. John.
Looking at the rear wheel…
They look as if they’re ‘not lined up’ opposite each other.
As if they’ve ‘done their own thing’…?

There’s a dolly type thing that you often see on heavy haulage trucks between the unit and trailer to take some of the weight at the front. I would imagine the two pivot points would slightly affect the way it follows the unit.
And the rear of the trailers has sets of steering wheels, but I think they would normally be locked straight unless it was being manually steered at a tight turn.
Looking at the position of the tractor unit he was well over to the right hand side of the road on a left hand bend before it went over. Also late at night so it would have been pitch dark. So it seems a little odd.
Looking at that photo there seems to be a fair chunk of tarmac missing, don’t know if it moved as they were going over it.
