Who uses the forrest road

Can someone explain to me why they have been soaking that mountain of pine trees for at least the last five years as i remain puzzled .

i think its to stop them drying out and goin on fireā€¦ as you can imagine if they went up it would be a hell of a fire

The Bordeaux to Irun road is quite unique.I once had a weekend by the giant sand dune at Arachon. You can sled down it.Went past the ten pm truck ban on saturday night to get there and French Douanes pulled me over in a plain white Land Rover and went in the trailer full of groupage to check it.They thought i was a smuggler and transit trucks do not go off route.
The Land Rover boot was full of divers air tanks.
They deflate their tyres so not to get stuck in the sand while patrolling the beaches for packages that have been thrown over board boats and get washed up in the tide.
Then with an attachment they re inflate the tyres for road use.

The trees are soaked in water to try and close the pores in the bark to reduce the risks of insects getting into the trees and damaging the trees, the most common and damaging insect for pine trees isthe ā€œBark Beetleā€ also to try and stop fungus growing and to stop them from drying out which would cause splitting and twisting of the tree
