Who is this utter cock?

Dafman:
Perhaps the Merc driver has just joined the motorway at J11 Dunstable and the Asda driver had pulled in to lane 2 to let him on and then the Berk acted a ■■■■ and wouldn’t let the polite Asda driver back in.

As already posted, he could have very easily slipped back in behind him, but opted not to, just like plenty of nob truck drivers do on a daily basis, plenty been crying on here because they got left in lane 2 after pulling out, poor children.
And drivers moan about other truck driver taking to long to do an over taking manoeuvre because they are only going a quarter of a mile an hour faster.
Before knocking other road users for they way they drive, HGV drivers need to look at how they behave first!!

He could have done but why on earth should he? As professionals we adjust to make allowances for the very poor standards of driving on our roads everyday but there has to be a point where we stand our ground otherwise we wouldn’t get anything done, in any sort of scenario, whether it be parked up, delivering, on the road, on the motorway, where ever.

No, I think people call it courteous driving, which car drivers lack. Like for example hogging the middle lane, sitting down the inside of a truck, or spotting a truck wanting to move out in to lane two but floors it so the said truck cannot move out. Working as a team and knowing what other vehicles are able/not to do is the best plan for the roads and they would run smoothly.

No footage of what happened before hand and again your thinking what have might of happened. Sorry but you need to accept that the merc driver is a ■■■. END OFF

Also from the above post it is clear you don’t drive for a living, and this “Done a bit” vague answer don’t wash.

Are you related to Albion by any chance because you really post like him?

There’s plenty of idiots driving trucks out there. However the Asda driver wasn’t the idiot in this case. There’s no evidence whatsoever that the Asda driver had any need to return to lane 1 behind the Merc because the Merc was actually following the truck in lane 1 which the Asda driver was overtaking while the Asda driver was ahead of the Merc in lane 2.The Merc driver obviously had every intention of carrying out that overtaking manouvre at the point where the lanes divided from 3 lanes to 4 using the wrong lane to do it.Instead of following correct lane discipline in either staying in lane 1 or overtaking the two two trucks in the correct lane which was lane 3 not lane 2.

The question is why was the Merc driver running in lane 1 when the zb’s intention was obviously to overtake the two trucks one of which was in lane 1 being overtaken by another in lane 2 and why does the Merc driver think that lane 2 was the correct lane to use for overtaking the two trucks at the point where the lanes divided from 3 to 4 instead of using lane 3.

So, up until the blue truck pulled across in to the new lane 1, the merc driver may or may not been to close to it, but matched blue trucks speed and maintained the gap, not a problem, ive seen nob truck drivers following other truck drivers following a lot closer than that.
when blue truck moved across, at what point, “go have another look at the vid” did the merc increase his speed? before or after asda driver indicated and start moving across or after?
and how can he over take 2 trucks at once when one of them was directly in front of him?

I said the Merc driver’s ‘intention’ was obviously to overtake the two trucks which the zb then actually did in lane 2.It doesn’t matter ‘when’ the Merc driver increased speed the fact is the Merc driver needed to follow correct lane discipline by moving over to the left into lane 1 ‘behind’ the truck that the idiot was following and which the Asda driver was overtaking. There’s no way in this case that the Merc driver could carry out the overtaking manouvre which the idiot carried out on the nearside of the Asda driver. As I’ve said such stupidity is the result of what happens when idiots with the same intelligence as the Merc driver are allowed to carry out road planning in this case by dividing extra lane markings from the nearside. In this case the issue would have been avoided ‘if’ the truck driver in lane 1 had not bothered about using lane discipline in such a case in just the same way as the Merc driver.Which is what I’d have done if I’d have been driving it.

The Asda driver didn’t panic he just saw the unbelievable sight of the idiot Merc driver overtaking along the nearside in lane 2 having not returned,in keeping with correct lane discipline,to lane 1 behind the truck that the Merc driver had been following up to that point in that lane. Why would any driver leave an indicator out indicating a lane change when that lane change has obviously been blocked by an idiot overtaking along the nearside of the truck using the wrong lane to do so.Make no mistake if the law are too stupid to nick the idiot driving the Merc then this won’t be the last time the zb tries to carry out such stupid manouvres maybe next time with less favourable results.

Because he was goading him into moving over into lane 1 and to stop being a prick and his indicator cancelled when he straightened up the wheel.

But that was after asda driver tried to push him into lane 1 when he was still near the rear of his trailer, which just happens to be were he had been all the way through the video while asda driver was trying to overtake him and the truck!

So assuming that the Merc driver intended to stay where he was and never intended to overtake the truck in lane 1 or the Asda wagon then why didn’t the Merc driver move into lane 1 behind the truck he’d been following up to that point in accordance with correct lane discipline to reflect the additional lane instead of which the zb stayed out in the lane 2 preventing the Asda driver from moving into lane 2 to carry on with his overtaking manouvre which he was carrying out before and after the lanes divided.Instead of which as the video proves the Merc driver’s intention was to overtake both trucks using lane 2 when the lanes divided and as soon as the truck ahead of the Merc moved across into lane 1.

The reason why the Merc didn’t start to overtake the Asda wagon to start with was because the Asda driver started changing lanes before realising that the Merc was intending to overtake on the nearside.

As soon as the Asda driver realised and aborted the lane change the Merc driver then obviously carried out his intention of overtaking both trucks in lane 2.At least that’s hopefully how the law would see it.If not the implications seem obvious in turning the roads into anarchy.

Although,as I’ve said, the moronic British road planners already seem to have done a good job of that anyway in providing the means for those like the Merc driver to carry out their stupid ideas.

Lets not also bypass the latter half of the clip where the Merc driver once having his ermm fright and speeding off out of both trucks ways then decides to slow back down letting the Asda truck overtake him only for the Merc to pull back out and overtake the Asda driver.
If this entire clip isn’t deliberate provocation by the car driver i don’t know what is :open_mouth: - As said also his Youtube user name isn’t exactly coincidental either

I think in this case the best advice would be to ignore the idea of using lane discipline within the section where the road planners have ( idiotically ) turned it into a 4 lane section of motorway through the junction and just treat it as a continuation of the 3 lanes. :bulb: IE if the truck in lane 1 had stayed in what became lane 2 and the truck in lane 2 had stayed in what became lane 3 the situation definitely wouldn’t have happened.
