Who do you drive for?

When I do drive I drive for me because I can’t get a decent driver! I seem to be driving more and more these days.
Saves the trucks getting wrecked though and saves some fuel.Only bonus I get.

Depends on your definition of fun ERF man.
I have several loyal hard working guys who are very well paid ( well above average ) because they do a great job and cause me no problems.
They are happy and I am happy.
Trouble these days is finding a competent driver who is capable of doing what is asked of him and not causing havoc along the way.
Maybe you can recommend someone?

You collect comics and go to school. It’s ok to tell the truth Albie

Now go and do your homework and ■■■■ off to bed…

I’m on the other side of the fence, I work for SPR trailer services. As a mobile trailer fitter… Spend most of my time on Immingham docks or Humber sea terminal…

I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Unless you’re known by your trucknet username at work, I’m not convinced an employer could identify a specific employee on here.

My username bears no relation to my own name, nor anything else that would point to me.

Mine could, I’m the companies only truck driver. However I think the TM might know I’m on here and hes a bit of a [ZB].

All those trailers need sorted mate, no good sitting there behind that fence.
Look for the gate, or ask where it is :bulb: …get in there, and get em done.ffs :unamused:

Wish we had someone like you at my place, a lot of our tilts have been dragged all over Europe being bodged along the way and some look like theyve been through Syria! We end up having to fix/repair/bodge our own before we even leave the yard… :frowning:
Come and work over here… youre’d have a job for life… :grimacing:

95% of my work is working on main land Europe registered trailers, the 3 biggest clients on the books have over 10000 trailers each in Europe, yea we see some real sheds aswell…

Well it’ll help if drivers didn’t cause some damage, like curtain tears, and ripping mud flaps off…lok

The worst ones we see are the ones from Hungary, one company we pull for use ex Hungarocamion tilts, all their left overs and some really are a sight to behold!
I pull into the yard sometimes and looking around think to myself which bomb damaged one is next to be hauled out… :grimacing:

Having recently come out the closet as a box jockey I prefer to keep my employer on the down low. Although its not tricky to figure out, mainly due to a drunkenly posted picture of an old steed on the ‘readers wives’ section (think it was this forum).

Anyway they aint too bad, usual social media policy bollox but thats par for the course these cover your bottom days.
Wont name em as I want cash up front for plugs.

As far as being recognised goes, my real life personna aint as outgoing as my online one, in fact im a boring old sod in the real world.

Did you service those old ■■■■ heap tilts that I used on Ewals Cargo Care about 12 yrs ago?
We thought we had seen the last of them and that they would be replaced with nice new Euroliners, when they sold them to Russia, but then they hired them back, and the Russians had done nothing with them except replace the tilt cover with a red one. :unamused:

This was one of the better ones.

That Ewals tilt looks mint compared to some of ours. Re the Hungarocamion tilts theyre all original with just the text blanked out.

Didnt Hungarocamion morph into Waberers about 10 years ago?? So those tilts predate then. 10 plus years aint too much if looked after, but a trailer being dropped n` swopped will be somewhat tired. . .

Bloody hell an old 8 series, circa 1998 at a guess, yeah we look after them, (as much as we can) I only started with the Co October 2013, after a short stint at APM commercials.
When I started the 2005, 5 series were being phased out. Never came across any of their tilts.
It was only with the late 9 series they started specing rear doors over a tailgate and a tilt rear flap. Also phased out the mechanical roof lifters for hydraulic pumped ones, a lot safer aswell. Also gone over to proper rear lights, no more T38 rubberlite.

To be honest the newer krone and schmitz ain’t a patch on the older lag and vanhool trailers, they just ain’t built the same…
Unfortunately the last lot of lag trailers they had weren’t brilliant quality…

Sounds like another company I know, lease trailers for several years, hand them back to the lease Co, they paint them up and short term hire them back, some times you can see the outline of the old livery under the new paint!
