Can anybody tell me where this “New Cold” outfit have sprung up from or have they been going a while.Seen alot of 17 plate units pulling Ryder Rental trailers.

They do R&R ice cream out of Leeming Bar, seemed to appear after taking that work off Reed Boardall a while back. Can’t miss their cold store off J30 of the M62!
These are very local to me,
Caused a bit of an issue with the building of the massive cold store just off jct 30 of the m62,if going west you can’t miss it.
Anyway there was a bit of anticipation locally among drivers as roumours of £12 an hour were doing the rounds,which is very good for round here.
From what I can gather though it’s not a great job and I regular see drivers going out for assessment,one guy told me the money is excellent but the job is awful and the Eastern European lads are flooding in.
Looks like it will end up another reed boardall type outfit to me.

I have done work there on the agency last year, and the work is easy enough, but they have a habit of not listening.
Ie: You tell them you want day runs, and they try and give you nights out. They ran you to the limit sometimes, and running out of time and then recovering you, was a fairly frequent thing, bearing in mind you are still on tacho rules. You used to go in and there would be no units and you would have to wait for one.
This was early last year, but I don’t think things will have changed much. I have had friends work there on the books, but left after a while because of false promises.

As far as I know, it is Tom Cassells that is running Newcold … used to be MD @ Reed Boardall … nothing to do with the “music business”.
Was told they “poached” Tom and gave him a “blank cheque book” to take all the work from RB.
I was subcontracting with my old employer for Newcold. Id wait 2 hours for the trailer to be loaded then they would send me to ■■■■■■■■■■■■
Obvious night out with how long Farmfoods took, so the second time I refused to do it. Not in a cab with a bunk and only paid for 12 hours.
Newcold took the view that my shift started when I was loaded and not the 3 hours before. Soon stopped subbing for them as the other drivers did the same. Especially when we often started at 2.30am and by 3pm we parked up.
