later on tonight (early hours) i’m going to be going from Oxford to Ipswich and was wondering on the best/quickest route. i’ll be running light (about 18t) with a mega trailer on (15ft) are they any quick routes.

m25
m11
a120
a12.
does that look about the quickest or am i no where near vasco degama status yet?
also running from ipswich to richmond after wards. which would be the best route (im running bobtail on that one) is it worth going in to london for the northh circular or just around the m25 (which way, clockwise/anticlockwise) and in on the m3?

I’d probably go M25 A12 rather than the M11 A120 bit. Less effort involved.
Depends on the M25 roadworks, if it’s busy you’d be better off coming off at M11 and going up the 120… if it’s clear and you get a good run through, as the guys above have said, the A12 is the more straight forward way

By the time you get to M11 you are well into the roadworks though, I’d stick with it at that point.
I presume you’ll have “loaded out” from Oxford in the small hours, if so then (as has already been said) M40, M25, A12. That time of night it’ll be quicker than going over the top.
As you’re doing Theatre work I would guess you’ll be going to the Regent, in the middle of town.
If so bear in mind the only way into Ipswich before 0700 is down “London road” A1214 'cause of the 7.5 tonne w/limit’s that are in place on the other routes in.

you beat me to it Rikki by 7 hours …i would of said exactly the same for what its worth. …but having said that it’d probably be a lot easier M40 M25 A12 running at night eh.
I go that way, Wheelnut, and I’m on mileage. Having tried both, the route over the top is the better one, although admittedly that’s during the day mid-week.
